Major Spider-Man Villain Teased at the End of $880M Tom Holland Movie Reportedly Making MCU Return With Vengeance
In Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, Mac Gargan made a brief appearance in the post-credit scene, leaving the fans excited about his return as a full-fledged villain in the following Homecoming sequel. However, he was noticeably absent in both Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home. A recent report renews the hope of fans, as Mac Gargan will potentially make a return in the forthcoming Spider-Man 4 after six years since his debut.
Michael Mando to make his MCU return in Spider-Man 4
According to the reliable source @MyTimeToShineHello, the Better Call Saul actor Michael Mando is finally returning to the MCU as Mac Gargan aka Scorpion. With Spidey-Man 4 on the horizon, the Scorpion will take revenge on Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and might recruit some of his allies, setting the stage for an eventful introduction to the notorious Sinister Six villain group that Spider-Man will face off against in the future.
Michael Keaton, who has played the main villain as Adrian Toomes (The Vulture) in Spider-Man Homecoming, sees Mac Gargan in prison. Gargan expresses his desire to take down Spider-Man and asks Toomes if he knows the true identity of the web-slinger. Toomes, who already knew his identity, chose not to reveal it and says instead, “If I knew who he was, he’d already be dead.” Gargan was captured by the FBI due to his involvement in arms deals and criminal activities.
The intense post-credit scene now makes sense in the context of his glorious return in the following Spider-Man movies. However, sources suggest that Mando will reprise his role as the prominent supervillain in Spider-Man 4 with his authentic Scorpion suit.
Mac Gargan might come for Daredevil before Spiderman
In this scenario, Wilson Fisk’s Kingpin will hire him as a vigilante to track Daredevil, and this potential storyline could contribute to his eventful involvement in Spider-Man 4. His introduction in Born Again could serve as a precursor to his rumored role in Spider-Man.
Scorpion: Spider-Man’s obsessive Sinister Six adversary
Created by Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditk, Mac Gargan first appeared in 1964’s The Amazing Spider-Man #20. He was featured as a private investigator hired by Daily Bugle editor-in-chief J. Jonah Jameson to learn how Peter Parker takes pictures of Spider-Man as an employee of the Daily Bugle. Gargan later undergoes some experimental procedures that bond him with mechanical scorpion suits that offer him superior strength, speed, and agility.
Gargan then turns into Scorpian, evolving into a formidable adversary of Spider-Man. He becomes obsessed with unmasking the identity of Spider-Man, which often drives him to extreme measures. Scorpion is a member of the supervillain team named Sinister Six, known as the most notorious and intimidating foe to Spider-Man. His character undergoes various story arcs and developments over the years in comics, making him a complex and compelling antagonist in the Spider-Verse.
Since his reprisal news hasn’t received any official confirmation from the Marvel studio, plot details for Spider-Man 4 remain under wraps and are reported to be in development for December 2021.
