Samuel L. Jackson Suffered From Substance Addiction

During his interview with The Guardian, Samuel L. Jackson shared that despite his addiction and constant use of drugs, he received praise for his theatre performances. He claimed that he was able to give his best of him despite being intoxicated. Although it did not make him a lot of money, he was satisfied as an artist.

However, the Coach Carter star started having doubts when he decided to get treated for his addiction. For the sake of his professional and personal life, he got admitted into rehab to get rid of his addiction. His doubts raised so much that he started assuming that he would never be able to become a movie star.

During an interview, the Pulp Fiction actor said, “When I was in rehab, I remember doubting if I could be an actor without using drugs.” He further explained that he doubted himself because he never did anything “without drugs or alcohol before.” But Jackson knew it was something he always wanted to do, and he is thankful to his wife for her support.

Samuel L. Jackson is thankful to his wife, who helped him overcome his addiction. He is married to Broadway actress LaTanya Richardson Jackson, and the couple has been happily married for more than 40 years and has a daughter, Zoe Jackson.

In an interview with People, the Glass star shared that his wife sought professional help after she found him passed out one day. He shared that he came to terms with his position and was ready to accept whatever future had in store for him. But his wife made sure he got the help he needed.

Jackson said, “She didn’t have to do what she did.” He said she could have done anything she desired, as he became withdrawn from his loved ones. But LaTanya Richardson Jackson still had faith in her husband, which has proven true.
