During an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the actress said,
“In my head I was like, ‘You have literally 30 seconds left in this room and if you don’t do something impressive nothing will ever come of it. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance, just take it.’ And so I start screaming at him and he’s yelling back at me. And he’s really scary. I can barely keep up.”
Margot continued to explain that DiCaprio’s character says to her character that she should be happy to have a husband like him and now she should get near to him and kiss him. The actress pointed, “
So I walk up really close to his face and then I’m like, ‘Maybe I should kiss him. When else am I ever going to get a chance to kiss Leo DiCaprio, ever? But another part of my brain clicks and I just go, Whack! I hit him in the face. And then I scream, ‘F**k you!’ And that’s not in the script at all. The room just went dead silent and I froze.”
Margot Robbie got the part and was highly appreciated for the character portrayal in the movie, adding that everyone in the room started laughing and asked her to do it again.

Margot Robbie was not sure if The Wolf of Wall Street would do any good for her
The actress, back in 2013 during an interview with Vanity Fair, noted that she was determined to play Naomi Lapaglia but she was not sure if the movie would bring her the recognition she had been looking for because she didn’t think anyone would notice her in the movie.
She said during an interview with BAFTA,
“It was my first film in America. Honestly, I know this sounds silly now, knowing how big the movie became, [but], at the time, I thought, ‘No one’s gonna notice me in this film. It kind of doesn’t matter what I do in this film, because everyone’s gonna be focused on Leo and everything, and I’ll just kind of slip under the radar.’”
The actress also spoke about her experience of working with ace filmmaker Martin Scorcese and said that the director was not very keen on knowing the process of her preparation for the role, but added that this dismissal allowed her to perform better on-screen.
During his interview with Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People Issue, the director said about Robbie,
“She clinched her part in The Wolf of Wall Street during our first meeting by hauling off and giving Leonardo DiCaprio a thunderclap of a slap on the face. It was an improvisation that stunned us all.”
The director was left impressed with the actress and, clearly, she did a fantastic job.
Margot Robbie did three shots of tequila before filming her racy scene
The Babylon actress revealed during an interview with The New York Times that her first racy scene required her to stand in the hallway n*ked which petrified her and recalled that she was shaking and scared, wondering if she would ever be able to do that.
But she revealed that one of her crew members offered her a few drinks to help her ease down, to which she revealed that she had three shots of tequila and then she took off her clothes and did the scene and she was completely fine. Robbie mentioned that tequila surely helped her ease down the shaking and anxiety and gave her the much-needed boost of confidence.
