According to recent casting reports, it has been revealed that Galactus will be the main villain in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. Marvel is looking for a Latino actor to play the role of Galactus, the cosmic entity and primary antagonist of the Fantastic Four. Actor Antonio Banderas, known for his roles in movies like The Mask and Desperado, has allegedly been offered the role of the supervillain, who is recognized for wearing a distinctive purple helmet shared by Jeff Sneider on the latest episode of The Hot Mic.

Antonio Banderas has recently portrayed the villain in Uncharted, and he has proven his potential to demonstrate antagonistic roles on the screen. Unlike other Hollywood actors, this is Banderas’s debut in the MCU. In addition to the MCU, this would undoubtedly be a note-worthy and exciting development for fans and franchises alike.

Recent reports from Sneider suggest further developments in the casting, as Vanessa Kirby will be playing Sue Storm, and Joseph Quinn will play Johnny Storm. Sneider said, “I have seen enough. We are calling it here at The Hot Mic. Vanessa Kirby is cast as Sue Storm.”  When asked by Rocha if Kirby will indeed be Storm, Sneider affirmed, “That is what I’m hearing from sources.” He later added, “I’ve talked to folks, and it sounds like Vanessa Kirby”.

The possibility of a Silver Surf appearance also heightens the anticipation, with Ebony Moss-Bachrach potentially taking up the character. Along with Galactus, it was also revealed that Doctor Doom would make a major appearance but that the villain would not play a major part.

“But here’s the possibility that I think that that exists with Ebon Moss-Bachrach, okay, if he’s playing Silver Surfer?” Sneider says regarding further casting rumors “I think that that is perhaps more likely.” Similarly, he reports that Ben Grimm has also been cast in the role of Thing.

Galactus was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and was first featured in Fantastic Four #48 (March 1966). Galactus’s initial origin depicts that he was a scientist and a space explorer named Galan from a multi-advanced planet called Taa who gained cosmic abilities by passing near a star. Later, writer Mark Grenwald developed the character, depicting that when Galan’s universe was about to be destroyed, he merged with the “Sentience of the Universe” and became Galactus. He gained immense cosmic power and needed to consume entire planets to stay alive.

Galactus, who has now been featured as the major villain for the Fantastic Four in Marvel Comics, can be reviewed for a specific reason. Unlike other characters, Galactus’s conflict revolves around his irresistible desire to consume planets to gain energy. Thus making it a perfect problem for the Superhero family. This dilemma of saving Earth from the planet eater creates a compelling sci-fi drama.  This sets The Fantastic Four apart from other superhero movies. But having Earth’s smartest scientists combat a cosmic force through science adds a high-concept sci-fi blend that enriches the MCU.
