Hogwarts has changed into an aimless, silent, and dismal place as the headmaster of the institution, Michael Gambon, left for his abode. The 82-year-old, famous for playing Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter franchise, died on September 28, leaving the world and the Harry Potter family broken and devastated.

Gambon died after contracting pneumonia. The Hollywood actor died peacefully in the hospital. A representative confirmed in a statement with People,

“We are devastated to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon. Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside, following a bout of pneumonia. Michael was 82.”

The statement concluded by asking for privacy at this painful time. The accomplished actor had an impressive career in movies, television, as well as theatre, and his love of the stage and theatre even proved to the world that age is just a number. He then did magic with his work in the Fantasy series as he took over Albus Dumbledore’s role after the death of Richard Harris in 2002.
