Michelle Pfeiffer Was Frustrated With Marvel’s Policy Despite Getting Her On-Board for Ant-Man 2 for a Valid Reason
Michelle Pfeiffer has been actively working in the Hollywood entertainment industry for over four decades. In addition to numerous accolades, she has also earned a motion picture star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Having made her acting debut in 1978, she was one of the most bankable stars in the 1980s and 1990s.
Michelle Pfeiffer portrayed the iconic character of Selina Kyle aka Catwoman in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns that was released in 1992 but that isn’t the only superhero movie she has been a part of. She also stars in MCU’s Ant-Man franchise. However, she has pointed out that it is quite difficult to work with the MCU for a particular reason, and it seems to be a valid one.
Michelle Pfeiffer is Frustrated with MCU’s Antics
In the Ant-Man series, Pfeiffer plays the role of the original Wasp aka Janet van Dyne, reprised her role for a brief appearance in Avengers: Endgame and a major part in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Some time ago, she candidly spoke about the constant issues caused by Marvel rewriting its scripts due to which she only gets the chance to read the script right before the filming starts. She said:
“You have to commit without actually having read anything. It wouldn’t have mattered because it [the script] changes anyway. You don’t really know what you’re getting into, and then you get a script right before you start shooting, and then it changes every day. And then you shoot the movie, and you wrap, and then it changes again.”
The fact that the script changes every day is a huge inconvenience for the actors on set, making things more challenging. There are a number of reasons why Marvel could be doing this to its actors, and the most predominant one seems to be their need to maintain secrecy so that fans don’t get any spoilers by any chance which ensures that they remain intrigued enough to go watch the movies upon its release.

In an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Pfeiffer expressed her views about making superhero movies, saying:
“Look they’re a mixed bag. You know, like, the outfits, are always super uncomfortable, and you forget it’s like childbirth a little bit. But it’s — you know, Ant-Man is such a fun one to work on. It’s such a great group of people.”
The What Lies Beneath actress revealed that the most uncomfortable superhero costume that she has ever been in was the one she wore for her role as Catwoman in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns. The costume is one of the reasons why that character is so famous but it has to be noted that these actors go to great lengths to make the movies worth watching.
