Sofia Vergara requests the court to hold up their prenup
The Modern Family star Sofia Vergara known for her dazzling beauty and impeccable comedic timing has requested the court to uphold her prenup with Joe Manganiello as they move forward with their divorce proceeding. Despite being 4.5 times richer than her to-be ex-husband, Vergara has requested to uphold the prenup to save her own $180 million fortune.
As per the reports obtained by PEOPLE, Sofia Vergara responded to Manganiello’s divorce filing on July 26 stating “irreconcilable difference” as the reason for the dissolution of their marriage.
During recent court proceedings, the actress asked the court to uphold their prenup and also said that all of her assets should remain hers which includes all the jewelry, artwork, and other personal artifacts. She also requested to claim her earnings from before and during their marriage as her assets.
Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello: A story of love and divorce
Colombian bombshell and the handsome DC star announced their divorce on July 17 in a joint statement shared with Page Six. After being married for seven years both celebs have decided to part ways due to the “differences” between them.
“We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the couple said in the statement. “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect for our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
Just two days after the interview, Joe Manganiello filed for divorce under the reason of “irreconcilable difference”. He also stated that both of them had signed a prenup before their marriage.
Other sources have also reported that despite the strong love and connection between both the actors they have their set of differences and have been through several ups and down for a long time.
This glamorous couple’s love story started in 2014 when Joe Manganiello first noticed Sofia Vergara. It was love at first sight setting a perfect background to a Hollywood love story. Talking about the same Manganiello said in an interview “I totally got busted. That was actually funny when we first started dating, months after that. We had talked, I guess, or kind of bumped into each other but we didn’t start dating until she was single. She had a boyfriend at that time.”
Within a month or two, Manganiello proposed his lady luck and by 2015 both moved in together. After the fairy tale proposal, the couple got married on 21 November 2015 during a glamorous ceremony at Palm Beach.
Although with their recent divorce announcement, the love story of this power couple has found its end, breaking the hearts of millions of fans in the process.
