Most Heartbreaking Deaths In Harry Potter, Ranked
The Harry Potter franchise has been around for more than 2 decades and even though it has given us some happiest memories, it has hit us with heartbreaking deaths too. These vary from the students which can read/watched growing up and even the few who lost their lives fighting for the good! Here are some deaths we can never get over with!
1. Fred
His death shook most of us. It was a heartbreaking moment in the Harry Potter franchise watching a Weasley die.
Geroge and Fred; the Weasely twins were the ones who got “fun” in the series and they even came up with their joke shop. They always helped Harry and stood up for him just like they would do for Ron. Sadly he was in an explosion which killed him.
2. Cedric Diggory
Diggory deserved so much more than being killed in the Triwizard Championship. In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry ended up joining the championship, thanks to trickery that took place. Voldemort and his death eaters already had been trying to get to Harry and saw this as a perfect opportunity. They used the trophy as a portkey to bring them to a specific location.
Cedric was lured in with Harry and both of them arrived at the location where Voldemort was present with his followers. Peter Pettigrew killed Cedric right in front of Harry.
3. Sirius Black
Sirius Black was the only real father figure he had, and it was honestly nice seeing him get some love post the Dursley treatment. When we first met Sirius, we thought he was the reason Harry lost his parents.
But then the truth was revealed and he had spent 12 years in Azkaban for a crime he didn’t commit. They both grew close and yet he had to remain in the hidden as he watched out for his Godson, Harry. And just when we thought Harry found his family, Sirius was killed by Bellatrix during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. And most fans blame J.K. Rowling for being so cold towards Sirius Black! We mean it pissed off Gary Oldman as well.
4. Dobby
Dobby’s death in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was one of the saddest ones. When he was first introduced to the audience, he was Malfoy’s House Elf. He went on to prove his loyalty to Harry and even saved him from Lucius Malfoy’s “curse” at the end of the second installment.
Book readers know that Dobby even helped Hermione to free the House Elves and he was so much loveable as well as comedic relief in the books. Dobby died while saving and protecting Harry Potter and his friends. None of us will forget his sacrifice! We all cried here.
5. Remus and Tonks
Remus was living a difficult life as he was a werewolf and needed to hide to protect those he loved. Tonks was an Auror at the Ministry of Magic and learning under the guidance of Mad-Eye Moody. That led to her joining the Order of the Phoenix.
Tonks married Lupin in 1997 and they even had a son(they named Harry his Godfather). But sadly they didn’t have a happy ending. They both died fighting at the Battle of Hogwarts.
