Prominent figures in the industry often try to shield their on-screen explicitly from their families. Margot Robbie, who has recently starred in the summer blockbuster Barbie, had a similar experience where the actress had to hide the truth from her family.
Margot Robbie is undeniably an impeccable actress who recently broke numerous film records. The actress’s performance in Greta Gerwig’s movie earned her immense admiration and fanbase. Little did fans know that Robbie had to lie to hide another lie regarding her movie.
Margot Robbie’s Clever Family Secret After On-Screen Nudity
Barbie star Margot Robbie had to lie to her family to hide the truth behind her explicit scenes in The Wolf of Wall Street featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and the actress. Robbie played Naomi Lapaglia, girlfriend of DiCaprio’s Jordan Belfort, in the Martin Scorsese movie.
And when the movie finally came out, the Focus star had to skillfully fabricate the nude scene in her movie. Margot Robbie once appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show and revealed how she dissembled her on-screen nudity to her parents. As revealed by the actress (via Daily Mail),
“I just flat-out lied to my family for a really long time. I said, ‘I don’t care what you hear, there is no nudity, I’m not doing any nudity. Ignore anything anyone’s saying, there is no nudity’.
The Babylon star initially denied the existence of any nude scene in the movie without hesitation. But rumors couldn’t stop persisting and Robbie had to come up with another story to tell her parents. So, the stress told them that a body double was used and her head was CGI’d onto someone else’ body. The Suicide Squad star revealed that her family believed all the lies.
However as the movie already hit theaters at that time and Robbie knew that everyone was going to encounter the reality, she confessed her lies and advised her family to read the book before deciding if they wanted to watch the movie or not.
Future of Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn in DCEU
Margot Robbie’s involvement in the DCEU with her portrayal of Harley Quinn has been a common question as fans are keen to know whether The Suicide Squad star will reprise her role in James Gunn‘s universe or a different actress will take on the role of Harley Quinn.
Gunn is all set for new projects in DC, and the outcome of the director’s decisions will impact the future of Harley Quinn’s character within the DCU. According to The Direct, the Co-CEO of the DC studios mentioned that some actors will play the roles they’ve already played in past movies.
James Gunn also listed Harley Quin as an important character within the DCU alongside iconic characters like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman. The director has publically acknowledged Robbie’s work in Harley Quinn and indicated a desire to work with the actress again.
However, it is unclear where could Harley Quinn appear but there are speculations that Robbie’s character might show up in Waller or Season 2 of Peacemaker.
