“My neck is f**ked up. Have pins and needles going down it”: Sound Engineer’s Cry for Help after Travis Scott Punched Him into Kingdom Come Right after Flipping Him Off
There have been many celebrities in Hollywood who have come to their downfall as a result of their public outbursts and controversial incidents. Many celebrities have lost necessary endorsements and career deals due to getting into personal or professional difficulties over the years, such as Kanye West, Johnny Depp, Usher, Aaron Rodgers, and so on. As a matter of fact, we may also have to consider American rapper Travis Scott if we are talking about controversies. Kylie Jenner’s ex-partner Travis Scott also maintained a low profile to avoid further trouble after his Astroworld concert tragedy in 2021. However, another controversy has engulfed the 30-year-old American rapper.
In an incident reported by TMZ, New York police are searching for THE SCOTTS singer after he allegedly punched a sound engineer and caused $12,000 in damage at a nightclub early Wednesday morning. The rapper’s representation and legal team are reportedly attempting to calm the situation, but folks are getting furious at the rapper for the incident as he was already red-flagged because of his Astroworld concert incident.
Travis Scott Has Been Caught Up In New Legal Troubles Following A Physical Altercation
New York City police are seeking Travis Scott, 30, for questioning after it was reported that the rapper assaulted a man in a nightclub on Wednesday early morning. TMZ reported that the rapper performed with Don Toliver at the Club Nebula in midtown Manhattan on Tuesday night. In the early hours of Wednesday morning, the rapper punched a 52-year-old sound engineer working in the club at the time. In an interview with a media outlet, the engineer identified himself only as Mark following the alleged altercation.
The victim, named Mark, said,
“My neck is f**ked up. My arm is tingling. I have pins and needles going down it.”
He continued,
“Travis stuck his middle finger in my face. So I lowered the monitor a little bit so I could talk to him, and that’s when he ran around the speaker and attacked me.”
According to the sound engineer injured in the alleged attack by Scott, the rapper flipped the bird and hit him in the head. According to TMZ, apart from the fight, Scott damaged a video screen and one of the speakers during the altercation, causing $12,000 worth of damage. The media outlet reported that Scott was involved in an altercation because the DJ was playing his track list at a lower volume than usual in the booth.
Rapper’s lawyer, Mitchell Schuster, told TMZ that the incident was “a misunderstanding being blown out of proportion by clickbait and misinformation.” Further, his lawyer stated that the venue and law enforcement are working together to resolve the situation; however, the NYPD is still searching for the rapper, and no charges have reportedly been filed.
THE SCOTTS Singer’s Astroworld Concert Tragedy: How It Became A Controversial Issue For The Rapper?
Travis Scott landed himself in hot water when ten people were killed and hundreds more injured in a deadly crowd surge during the first night of the Astroworld festival in Houston in November 2021. On 5 November of that year, more than 50,000 people attended the third annual event at the former Houston NRG Park. According to reports, the crowd surged into the festival after people jumped turnstiles and fences to enter without tickets. While fans called for the concert to be stopped due to the growing crowd, Scott performed for 37 minutes after the incident had been declared a mass casualty.
THE SCOTTS singer was unaware of the severity of the crowd surge. In his first sit-down interview since Astroworld, he suggested that the media unfairly blamed him. Scott said in an interview in 2021,
“I’m the face of the festival, I’m an artist, so yeah, the media is… They wanna put it on me.”
Scott issued a series of statements about the tragedy, along with Astroworld organizers and Live Nation. He also pledged to refund all concertgoers and to pay for funeral expenses for those who died. It is reported that several lawsuits were filed against the rapper for injuries or deaths caused by the Astroworld event. Scott settled the lawsuit in 2022, and the lawyer representing other victims noted that the settlement, in this case, was confidential.
