Britney Spears had to face an awkward situation when the pop sensation was physically assaulted by a security member in Las Vegas. The incident occurred on Wednesday night when Spears approached NBA star, Victor Wembanyama for a picture together. Though the incident might not have been intentional, her legal team filed a police report later against the player’s security guy. It was also said that the security personnel didn’t recognize the singer as the place was stuffed with fans.

Britney Spears Assaulted By Victor Wembanyama’s Security in Vegas

In a surprising turn of events, pop star Britney Spears was allegedly assaulted in Las Vegas. As per TMZ reports, a member of NBA star Victor Wembanyama’s security team backhanded her in the face. The controversial incident took place at the famous Catch restaurant located in the ARIA Hotel around 8:30 PM.

Spears was present there for dinner with her husband, Sam Asghari, and two other close friends. She was surrounded by fans in the casino and it was then that Spears spotted the upcoming NBA star, Victor Wembanyama. As any other enthusiastic fan, Spears also approached him for a photo. But it turned ugly when the Director of Team Security for the San Antonio Spurs manhandled the pop icon causing her to fall on the ground and knocking her glasses off.

Though she managed to maintain her composure and went back to her table, and according to reports, the security personnel involved later approached her table to apologize and express his regret over the incident. Despite accepting the apology, Britney Spears’ security team engaged in a discussion with the security personnel and concluded to take action by filing a police report with the Metropolitan Police Department, alleging battery.

Britney Spears’s Conservatorship Finally Ended After 13 Years

Britney Spears is finally a free woman now. After having a mental breakdown, the pop star entered into a conservatorship with her father Jamie Spears which gave him control over her life, career, and money for the last 13 years. After a series of erratic behavior Spears was twice hospitalized back then and her father, Jamie, and attorney Andrew Wallet were granted temporary conservatorship.

It was then extended indefinitely, Jamie was given complete control over the singer’s estate and physical well-being while co-conservator and attorney, Andrew Wallet, was to oversee her finances. The first movement  #FreeBritneySpears from the conservatorship was launched by her fans in 2009. After her engagement to Jason Trawick in 2011, court-approved him to become a co-conservator.

In late 2019, Jamie Spears stepped down as Spears’ conservator for a temporary period, and in 2021, the New York Times’s ‘Framing Britney Spears’ documentary was released and the #FreeBritney movement gained momentum again. In 2020, Spears made her statement saying, “It’s my wish and my dream for all of this to end, I just want my life back. The conservatorship should end. I truly believe this conservatorship is abusive.”

After years of fight, in September 2021, a Los Angeles judge finally suspended her father, Jamie Spears, from his 13-year role as the controller of the singer’s business affairs. Though singer Britney Spears is finally free, but her battle for justice is far from over.
