The Devil Wears Prada star Meryl Streep was announced to be joining the cast of the Hulu show Only Murders in the Building in January 2023 but details about her role were kept under wraps until the third season of the show was released. In June 2023, Selena Gomez shared a picture of herself and Streep with a heartfelt caption about her experience working with the veteran actress.

In a post on her official Instagram handle selenagomez, the Lose You to Love Me singer wrote:
“Well we wrapped season 3 of @onlymurdershulu -I’m not sure I have enough words to explain just how beautiful this season has been. It has been deliriously hilarious, challenging and for me, an absolute dream. I’ll post more soon. But I’ll I leave it with the woman I adore, look up to and love. 🥰”

Evidently, Gomez loved working on the show despite being in the presence of some of the most talented people in the industry. Her work on the show is truly applaudable as the past two seasons of the show have already been nominated for several accolades and even won some of those.

Selena Gomez Loved Working With Meryl Streep
Apart from being a brilliant actor and iconic vocalist, Selena Gomez has also worked as a producer on several shows. She produced the HBO Max TV cooking show Selena + Chef in which she also starred. She currently works as an executive producer on her show Only Murders in the Building which gives her the liberty to control certain aspects of her character Mabel Mora.
In an interview with The Wrap, Selena Gomez was prompted to speak on what was it like to have Meryl Streep on the show. That was her cue to start gushing about the Oscar-winning actress as she said:
Working with her, for any actor I would assume, it takes your breath away to be around someone who is a part of history, who has paved the way for so many actresses and told so many powerful stories and is recognized for that. And she couldn’t have been more humble, more nice, more, just, adorable. I don’t know how to explain it. She was so sweet to everyone and on time and never looked at her script. It was really inspiring.

One thing that remains undeniable is Meryl Streep’s legacy and brilliance as an actress. Even the biggest of celebrities such as Anne Hathaway have found it to be intimidating to be in Streep’s presence only for the entire ordeal to turn into a learning experience for them.
