Both reviewers and viewers enjoyed the film, which helped it become the seventh highest-grossing installment in the franchise. Jennifer Lawrence said Nicholas Hoult was ‘her best friend’

Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence sparked romance rumors in 2010 when they met on the sets of X-Men: First Class and the fans admired them since they were a really good-looking couple.

It was soon confirmed that the couple had indeed been dating, as even though the couple tried to keep their relationship private and away from the media, Jennifer Lawrence couldn’t stop gushing about her man in an interview with Vogue in 2012, where she said

“He has absolutely no idea how good-looking he is. I think a lot of women and men hate me because of that.”

Lawrence never shied away from talking about how Hoult was her best friend and would make her laugh harder than anybody could. She said in an interview with Elle,

“We can eat Cheetos and watch beach volleyball and we turn into two perverted Homer Simpsons, like, ‘Oh, she’s got a nice ass’. I never thought we’d have such different opinions on asses.”

When Jennifer Lawrence won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Silver Linings Playbook in 2013, Hoult spoke about her in an interview with V Magazine via ABC News and said,

“The privacy thing obviously changes but the rest pretty much stays the same. It’s like that thing whereby you don’t believe your own hype. Enjoy the good times, but don’t get swept away with it. I think that’s something she’s capable of doing, and that’s what makes her special, but yeah, it is very odd.”

He added that he is just kind of a bystander in many ways adding that it is well deserved for her and he hasn’t really seen any change in her.

Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence split up due to ‘lack of time’

After dating for five years, the couple, who were admired by the audiences, decided to call it quits and go their separate ways and the reason stated was the lack of time.

Lawrence, who was filming The Hunger Games at the time, and Hoult were working on Kill Your Friends back in the UK, hardly got any time to see each other. According to a report by the Mirror, Nicholas Hoult was upset that Lawrence had decided to go to a Dior fashion show instead of meeting him. The source shared,

“Nicholas was pretty upset she opted out of seeing him as they rarely ever got to hang out. They split on decent terms. They know that at the end of the year they’ll be back on set together for the next X-Men film.”

It was not the first time they had called it quits, as they parted ways in 2012 but got back together as soon as they started working on the movie together, but finally ended things in 2014. Hoult welcomed his first child with model Bryana Holly as Lawrence got married in 2019 to Cooke Maroney and they welcomed their son Cy in 2022.
