The American actor has been in the headlines recently because of the shooting incident that took place on the set of his movie, Rust. He accidentally fired a live round from a pistol that was meant to be used as a prop on the set of the movie. According to recent court documents obtained, Baldwin is officially being charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter. Baldwin might even be facing up to 5 five years in prison.

Alec Baldwin’s Rust shooting incident
Back in 2021, Alec Baldwin was filming for Joel Souza’s Rust when an unfortunate incident took place. During the filming of the movie, he fired a live bullet from the gun that was meant to be a prop. That bullet hit the cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, in the chest, and she died right on the spot. The bullet also ended up injuring the director, Joel Souza, who was hit in the clavicle. According to sources, the DA of Santa Fe district officially pressed charges on Baldwin and the weapons specialist Hannah Gutierrez-Reed last month.
Hilaria Baldwin opens up about her worries regarding the future of her husband
In a recent interview, Hilaria Baldwin, Alec Baldwin’s wife of 11 years revealed her concerns about the ongoing investigation. She said, “We’re not okay. We can’t be okay. No one is okay. It was, and is, a tragedy that nobody could ever have imagined.” Hilaria Baldwin further expressed her sadness at the passing of Halyna Hutchins. According to sources, a preliminary hearing will take place on February 24 in the court. All the eyewitnesses of the incident will be attending the hearing.
Alec Baldwin is still insisting on his innocence and saying that it was an honest mistake. However, the DA office has accused the Pearl Harbor actor of doing reckless acts during the filming of the movie. According to sources, Baldwin was allegedly on the phone when he fired the bullet. Robert Shilling, a special investigator for the district attorney’s office, wrote that Baldwin became distracted by talking on his mobile phone while learning to operate the prop gun.
