No Time To Die was delayed due to the pandemic and yet has gained $119.1 million from across 54 markets in its foreign debut! This is the first Hollywood film of the pandemic era to cross $100 million overseas (without launching in China). MGM and EON Productions decided to open in offshore places a week before its launch in North America on 8th October.

In Ireland and UK, the movie earned $11.4 million on Saturday, which was the highest box office single day for any film in the franchise and even the highest in the pandemic era.  The film is receiving the widest release ever in the U.K. playing in 772 cinemas. It is Universal’s widest release in the U.K.

No Time To Die has even smashed IMAX records including setting the best opening weekend for a Bond film in 24 countries which include Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, Sweden, Italy, and Switzerland. It was the best pandemic-era opening in 21 markets including the U.K, Hong Kong, Austria, and even Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, and Norway.

Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, who is Universal International’s distribution chief was in admiration and praised the team saying, “This was a huge team effort by all. The filmmakers delivered an outstanding film and we are very proud to play a part in this result with MGM and EON”. She went on to add that Barbara Broccoli (EON) has been a “huge supporter of the theatrical experience, and it’s very gratifying to see the film achieve such heights during the pandemic.”

No Time To Die directed by Car Fukunaga is Daniel Craig’s fifth and final James Bond film. The film has an insanely talented cast which includes Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes, Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Christoph Waltz, Ana de Armas, Lashana Lynch, and Rami Malek.

And guess what, 007 is not the only film that he doing great at the foreign box office.
Venom 2 has also managed to make the headlines overseas this weekend making a huge opening of $13.8 million in Russia. It is now Sony’s biggest launch of all time in the market and the best of any film during the pandemic.
