English actor, producer, and screenwriter, Tom Hardy, entered the movie industry with Ridley Scott’s Black Hawk Down. Since then, he has worked in blockbuster movies and shows like Venom, Peaky Blinders, and The Dark Knight Rises.
A rumor has been circulating about Hardy being a member of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery’s star cast. However, the actor recently appeared to be clueless about his own casting in the Knives Out installment. He broke his silence on it in an attempt to clear up the rumor.
Tom Hardy Clears Up Those Rumors About His Casting in Knives Out 3
Directed by Rian Johnson, 2019’s Knives Out showed great commercial and critical performance. Following its success, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery came to the theaters as the second installment in 2022. The movie series is going to be expanded further with the third installment, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
Award-winning actor Tom Hardy is baffled after learning the rumors regarding his casting in the action-mystery franchise. Apparently, he is as clueless as anyone else speculating about his involvement with the project. Recently, he expressed his surprise about the rumor too, revealing that he has no idea what this is all about. He told Entertainment Tonight:
Nobody’s called me about this… Sounds cool, but no one’s asked me.
Hardy played it cool saying that this is showbiz, and who knows, maybe he is in. If he is there on the casting list by any chance, it is doubtful that anyone will complain including the actor himself.
What is Known About Knives Out 3 So Far?
English actor Daniel Craig is set to reprise his role as Benoit Blanc in the third installment of Knives Out. According to Tudum, stars like Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Jeremy Renner, Cailee Spaeny, and Andrew Scott are already booked for the movie.
Speaking about his casting technique, Johnson claimed that it is like “throwing a dinner party”. Explaining it further, he said:
We’ve been very lucky with each of these movies to have gathered some of my favorite actors on the planet, and that’s absolutely the case here. They’re also all lovely folks who get along, which is the dinner party aspect of it. When you’re making an ensemble movie like this, I think that’s key.
Knives Out 3 is being touted as Benoit Blanc’s most dangerous case. Other details about the movie’s plot are being kept tightly under wraps. However, the movie has already begun filming so hopefully, it won’t take too long for new details to be revealed.
As far as the source of the movie’s title is concerned, the Star Wars: The Last Jedi director has got it from a 1997 U2 song off their album Pop. The titles for the first two movies were derived from a Radiohead song and a Beatles song respectively.
