‘Not a Fan’: MCU Star Chris Pratt Locks Heads With DC Actor Dwayne Johnson Over UFC Champion Adesanya
Guardians of The Galaxy Star Chris Pratt had an old history with wrestling and he used his experience in sharing his take on Israel Adesanya’s performance against Jared Cannonier at UFC 276. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is an American MMA promotion company based in Las Vegas, Nevada that recently conducted an event UFC 276: Adesanya vs. Cannonier that took place on July 2, 2022. Israel Adesanya beat the No. 2 ranked middleweight contender Jared Cannonier in that event.
Adesanya won after fighting for the course of five rounds with a unanimous decision victory. This win marked his fifth successful title defense at 185lbs. However, his performance seems quite dull to many, including the MCU star Chris Pratt.

However, the MCU actor didn’t think the same. He appeared on ESPN’s post-fight show where the 43-year-old actor shared his unfiltered opinion on Adesanya’s performance. Chris Pratt told that he was “not a fan” of the champion’s performance sharing, “I’m gonna say this as humbly as I can, as a guy who never stepped in the Octagon. I don’t know this game, I’m just an actor.”
He added, “I’m not a fan, man. I’m not a fan of coming out like all that talk and then just putting on a little bit of a pitter-patter. Like, come on, man. You’ve got to cash on that. You got to cash on that promise, you know? Being so bad***.”
MCU star rooted for the middleweight contender Jared Cannonier
During ESPN’s post-fight show, he mentioned how he wanted Adesanya to carry that same energy but accepted that he was rooting for the middleweight contender Jared Cannonier.
“If I bet with my money, I would bet Adesanya would’ve done something like that. But I was hoping to see Cannonier make it.”
Chris Pratt will be seen in the upcoming Marvel movie Thor: Love and Thunder along with Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and Tessa Thompson which will be released in theaters on July 8 in the US.
