Inside Out 2 gets a stamp of approval from Queen of Femme Pop
Acclaimed for drawing big names to her Renaissance concerts and holding the most Grammy Awards, Beyoncé aka Queen Bey has become the latest A-lister to shower praise at Inside Out 2. An ardent face of global pop culture, the singer called the Pixar movie “brilliant” while keeping it at the very top of her 2024 favorites in talks with GQ Magazine.

The comments only added credibility to the already high acclaim for the flick. Yet, she may also note that her praise was for the very movie that dethroned her own long-time Disney box office champion, 2019’s The Lion King. A few days back, Inside Out 2 surged ahead of the Beyoncé starrer to crown itself as the highest-grossing animated movie of all time, breaking a five-year-old record.
Yet, the Halo singer is all set to compete and possibly clinch back the throne. Beyoncé will reprise her role as Nala for Mufasa: The Lion King.
The photorealistic animation will have Rafiki narrate the story of Mufasa to Simba and Nala’s daughter, Kiara, played by the pop singer’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. Scheduled for a December 2024 release, it packs enough potential to climb to the top.
Inside Out 2 helped Disney siege a 2024 box office triumph
A little more than halfway into 2024, Disney managed to put two of its movies into the billion-dollar club within just weeks of one another. An astounding pull of an audience by Pixar’s Inside Out 2 soon had Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine follow it.
With both of the studios being Disney’s own banners, the company has raked in a whopping $.167 billion haul by the former and $1.28 billion from the live-action so far.
Incidentally, while the animation became the highest-grossing movie of its kind, the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman film earned the distinction of being the biggest R-rated earner.
Moreover, with Mufasa: The Lion King coming in ready after months, it would only be a matter of time before 2024 closes itself with a purse full of triumphs for Disney.
