“Once you made it on Rogan, you’ve made it in life”: Bill Maher Gives Joe Rogan the Greatest Ever Compliment, Calls Him This Generation’s Larry King
Recently Bill Maher stated something which came out as a compliment to American commentator Joe Rogan. On 21 May’s podcast episode of Club Random with Bill Maher, Kathy Griffin was Maher’s guest. Griffin and Maher both talked about Larry King’s long-lasting career and they talked about the magic he spilled on the TV through his TV shows.
One of the most exciting parts of the episode was when Maher mentioned Rogan during their conversation about King’s accomplishments.
Bill Maher calls Joe Rogan the new generation King Larry
Bill Maher talked to Griffin regarding the TV shows and how incredible Larry was on American television. He is still one of the most iconic television hosts. Griffin talked about how there are no shows that can be as good as King’s shows. To which Maher disagreed politely and said,
“I would argue that Joe Rogan is not like Larry King, but — every generation has its own iteration of that. And certainly, there are differences, but huge audience. Bigger than Larry King ever was.”
He further added,
“He’s not looking for a fight and he is willing to open the mic to people.”
Maher also talked about why he thinks he is one of the most influential commentators. Joe Rogan has definitely been very influential for many years as a commentator and his opinions have received mixed reactions.
Bill Maher thinks Joe Rogan has earned his place in the industry
Maher also appreciated how he has made his own name in the entertainment industry. Maher also stated that Rogan is a very smart guy. He also talked about Rogan’s reach as a commentator. Maher said,
“What Joe does, he kind of opens that mic like Larry did. Elon Musk will do that show, and like, the biggest people in the world because they know of the reach.”
He further added,
“ I just think also Joe earned that. This is just a regular guy smarter than the average bear, but is not gonna be intimidated first of all, by you saying, ‘don’t platform this guy or don’t listen to this’. And he will let anybody speak and usually has a common sense view of it, of his own. You know, he’s a little to the right of where I am on things.”
One of the most well-known commentators, Rogan has attracted millions of people with his engaging style of speaking. Recently Rogan also talked about his podcast dream. While talking about it, the commentator said,
“The ultimate goal for the podcast is a ranch. To have a ranch we can go and fu*king launch missiles and drive ATV’s and have a pond to fish in. I want to have an outdoor amphitheater. I want to have like a place where we can go and we can do all kinds of wild sh*t.”
While talking about his podcast dreams and ideas Rogan revealed he just wants to have a good time.
