Johnny Depp is a well-known name in the entertainment industry. The actor was in the media due to his infamous defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard. The aftermath of the trial has left a mark on his career. Depp recently debuted his first film project since the trial, a French-language drama Jeanne du Barry, at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.

Despite being one of the highest-paid actors in the industry and having a massive net worth, the 60-year-old had to take a $10 million loan to save his house. According to reports, the Edward Scissorhands actor was close to losing two of his homes in West Hollywood. Records indicate that after the actor settled the debt of his smaller home on N. Sweetzer Avenue, which was up for foreclosure in 2016 for $4.28 million. 

Depp took an eight-figure loan in March to save his other castle-shaped house, which went into default five million dollars in 2018. The other house is renowned for its eerie likeness to a gothic reproduction of a Bavarian castle. 

 After burning his $650 million fortune on litigation with Amber Heard and other careless expenditures, the Pirates of the Caribbean star was compelled to take out the eight-figure home loan with City National Bank. The bank referred to as “Bank to the Stars,” offers lavish borrowing to A-listers.

The building, which is 7,430 square feet and features towers and turrets, resembles the scene of a horror film. The eight-bedroom, ten-bath residence was bought by Depp for $2.15 million in 1995. Despite doing everything possible to maintain ownership, Johnny Depp hardly ever stays at the house. He spends the majority of his time on his Bahamas island residence.
