One of the Most Infamous Tom Holland Movie’s Sequel Script is Already Completed

Mark Wahlberg recently confirmed exciting news for fans of 2022’s Uncharted movie – the script for a sequel centering on Tom Holland’s Nathan Drake is already finished. His character Victor “Sully” Sullivan will be keeping his iconic mustache. Uncharted grossed over $400 million globally earlier this year, so a follow-up film seemed likely. But Wahlberg’s update suggests Uncharted 2 could start shooting sooner than expected. So what storylines might the completed script explore? 

Will Mark Wahlberg Keep His Signature Stache in Uncharted 2?

According to an interview with The Direct, Mark Wahlberg sported Sully’s trademark mustache briefly in Uncharted’s post-credits scene. And he assured fans it’ll play a more prominent role in the sequel.

“I know somebody’s written a script and they’re still working on it, and it would consist of having the mustache the whole entire time. Which completely makes sense,” he said.

Given Sully’s mustache is such an iconic part of his look in the popular PlayStation games, it only makes sense to showcase it throughout Uncharted 2. Wahlberg struggled to make a fake mustache look believable in the first film, so hopefully he’s ready to commit to the real thing.

What Video Game Stories Could Inspire Tom Holland Movie’s Sequel?

The Uncharted games provide plenty of treasure-hunting adventures to pull from for sequels. Uncharted 2 could explore Roman, the villain from the first PlayStation game, who was teased in a post-credits scene. Or it may jump ahead to the fourth game, involving Nathan’s imprisoned brother Sam.

Or perhaps writers will craft an entirely original quest for Tom Holland‘s Nathan Drake and  Mark Wahlberg’s fully mustachioed Sully to embark on together. As long as the charm and death-defying set pieces of the games and first movie remain, fans should be in for an exciting ride.
