Oppenheimer Has Won 3 Major Awards Already: It’s a Signal Christopher Nolan Movie Will Conquer the Oscars
It’s raining awards for Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer this award season. The biographical epic was released along with Greta Gerwig’s Barbie in July 2023. With Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, and Dunkirk the Golden Globe winner is known for his directorial accolades. The sci-fi blockbuster has been leading this award season leaving behind critically acclaimed projects like Poor Things, Killers Of The Flower Moon, Anatomy Of A Fall, Maestro, Past Lives, The Holdovers, and American Fiction.
After winning the Producers Guild of America Awards (PGA), and Directors Guild of America Awards (DGA), Oppenheimer is set to conquer the Oscars too.
Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer Is Ready To Conquer The Oscars
Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer has made headlines this award season for sweeping the maximum number of awards. Recently, the Cillian Murphy-led sci-fi saga even clinched the DGA and PGA awards along with the SAG Awards.
After securing a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, a Critics’ Choice Award, Oppenheimer even went on to register a Grammy on its name for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media. Christopher Nolan honored Cillian Murphy in his acceptance speech during the DGA Awards. He said-
“I can’t believe its 20 years since we started on this journey together, which means it’s about 15 years since I woke up a little hungover and said to [my wife] Emma, ‘Did I go up to Cillian last night and say, You’re the best actor ever?’ The DGA awards are such a special event, I think not least because uniquely this event acknowledges and understands that nobody gets up here on their own.”

With 13 nominations, Oppenheimer will undoubtedly conquer the Oscars. Nolan’s magnum opus project went on to amass a box office collection of $926 million, against the production budget of $100 million.
Cillian Murphy Has A Fantastic Business Idea For His Oppenheimer Co-star
Cillian Murphy introduced a business idea while giving his acceptance speech during the SAG Awards. While talking about Olivia Thirlby, the mastermind behind the nickname Oppenhomies, the Peaky Blinders actor said-
“Oh, my goodness. This is extremely, extremely special to me because it comes from you guys. Okay, my Oppenheimer crew, my Oppenheimer family. Just an FYI on that exquisite moniker Oppenhomies, That was actually invented by the great Olivia Thirlby. So, Olivia, I think you should immediately trademark that and start merching the s— out of it because someone else will. Seriously, they were the greatest group of actors I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.”

He even spoke about the star-studded cast of the blockbuster movie and expressed his gratitude for taking care of him. Her said-
“I have never felt so looked after or cared for by a group of actors every day. Looking at your names on the call sheet, just made me brave guys. So thank you. Thank you. Thank you.I am just bursting with admiration and respect for you all. Chris Nolan and Emma Thomas, as always such a debt of gratitude to you. To my wife, Yvonne, and my boys, Malachy and Aran, I adore you.”
Christopher Nolan’s biographical saga has left behind Greta Gerwig’s fantasy doll drama. Barbie easily made its way to the billion-dollar club within the first few months of its release but stands nowhere close to Oppenheimer during the awards season.
