Oppenheimer Star Emily Blunt Pulled a Hilarious Prank on Christopher Nolan After He Hated Her Shoes
It seems that the one thing that Christopher Nolan hates the most on set is a pair of Uggs. He recalled his annoyance at how the cast members would repeatedly wear the shoe which seemingly he hated the look of. Further proving this, one of the cast members Emily Blunt also opened up about feeling heavily judged every time Nolan would disappointedly look down at her feet.
All the constant remarks about her uggs from the director made her decide to give the same thing he hated in the form of a gift.
Emily Blunt Gifted Christopher Nolan What He Hated On Set
There are so many on-set fun stories when it comes to films. Cast and crew may work hard but there are moments where they all go through things in common. Sets can also be a place wherefore and actors and directors get to know each other. One such story for Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer set is centered around a specific type of shoes that the cast members would show up wearing from the wardrobe.
Nolan opened up with The View about how he hated to see the cast wearing huge coats over their film outfit and pair of Uggs. This according to him would drive him mad and therefore Nolan constantly asked them not to wear appear wearing those.
However, after being judged by the director for her shoes Blunt decided to pull a prank by asking him to become a part of the Uggs team. The Dark Knight director said,
“She gave me a pair of Uggs boots — Ugg slippers, actually — as a wrap gift.”
Seemingly the shoes that the cast had to wear were from the 1940s and must have been very uncomfortable to be in for a long time. Blunt also opened up about the whole thing and revealed that Nolan’s judgment about the Uggs would make her feel as if she was on the set of the Devil Wears Prada once again.

A Brief Look at Oppenheimer
Directed by Christopher Nolan, Oppenheimer, as the title suggests is based on the eponymous physicist Robert J. Oppenheimer played by Cillian Murphy. The plot is centered on the time he was involved in the Manhattan Project and created the first-ever atomic bomb in the world.
One interesting aspect of the production is that the whole movie is shot on an IMAX camera and even the 10-minute atomic explosion scene was simulated on set so that the high resolution did not have the chance to get reduced. The film was released on the 21st of July and is available for watching in theatres at the moment.
