Marshall Teague, the original star of Road House, recently shared his insights on the fight scenes featured in the highly anticipated remake of the iconic film. Teague, known for portraying Patrick Swayze’s character took a keen interest in comparing the upcoming Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor sequences with the original. Drawing attention to the sound effects, Teague noted the distinctiveness in how the clashes sounded in the original film. The on-screen brawls between characters felt authentic due to the physical intensity of the hits, providing a unique and genuine quality to the fight sequences.

While expressing his sincere hope for the success of the upcoming remake, Teague couldn’t help but find humor in the audio effects employed in the fight scenes of the new film. Teague told TMZ,

“The one thing I found humourous was the sound of the hits in the fight. They’re a little off to me. I haven’t seen enough of [the remake] to be able to give you a real take on it. The hits sounded different. [Swayze and I] were hitting. He and I hit each other pretty hard throughout that fight, throughout the movie for that matter. We hit pretty hard in there. I tried to take it easy on the others, and he did, too. But when it came to he and I, we poleaxed each other, basically, is the word.”

Despite acknowledging the challenge of surpassing the authenticity of the original, Teague clarified that his observations were not a lack of support for the new Road House. He went on to commend both Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor for their excellence in their respective fields, expressing genuine wishes for the success of the upcoming flick.
