“Our 6th Season together…we’re still able to put up with each other?”: Ryan Seacrest Slyly Trolls Kelly Ripa, Says Unlike ‘Live’ They Still Respect Him at American Idol
Ryan Seacrest has already announced his departure from Live with Kelly and Ryan after a six-year run with her co-host Kelly Ripa. Just like the other co-hosts exiting the show, his surprise decision has shocked many fans. However, he has clarified that his other gig, American Idol was what made him come to this conclusion. He is far more serious about working for the singing show and why not, if he has good bonds there?
Unlike the other co-hosts, the former has been a great on-screen partner to his Live! companion and definitely a great off-screen friend. However, he slyly took a dig at Ripa by declaring his fondness for the singing show.
Ryan Seacrest Loves Hosting The American Idol!
The 48-year-old TV host, Ryan Seacrest was joined by the American Idol (AI) judges, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan for a Q&A session on ET where he opened up about working in the singing show. He shared about genuinely enjoyed hosting the singing gig. He told the AI judges, “I really like the live shows.”
Over the past five years, he has continued to host the show and has created a great bond with the judges. This will be their sixth season together which is one of the reasons why he is super excited about it.
He shared,
“This is more of a statement. How crazy is it to think we’ve been doing this for six years already and we’re still able to put up with each other? Everybody enjoys everybody.”
This could be his way of taking a dig at Kelly Ripa as she often used to make fun of him. Though their somewhat sweet-sour moment never went extreme as they maintained a healthy relationship with each other. His AI gig used to be quite difficult to manage as he was initially busy hosting the Live! show. But now, his jam-packed schedule is available since he has announced his exit from the morning talk show.
Ryan Seacrest Shared His Thoughts on Working Alongside Kelly Ripa
Last month, Seacrest announced to exit the Live With Kelly and Ryan and opened up about his experience working alongside the All My Children star. He shared,
“Working alongside Kelly over the past six years has been a dream job and one of the highlights of my career.”
He continued to praise her for being a great ally to him.
“She has been an amazing partner, friend, and confidant, and although we will always be a part of each other’s lives, I will miss our mornings together.”
He signed up only for three years when he joined Live! Show in 2017 replacing Michael Strahan. However, he stayed up for six years as he liked working there. He has already announced his replacement who is none other than Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos. He has also confirmed that he will be back as a guest co-host on a fill-in basis.
