Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Sign Multiyear Deal With Netflix!
In a yet another masterstroke move from the streaming company, Netflix has just signed a multiyear deal with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Earlier this year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made waves in the media when the couple renounced their title of “royal highness” and quit working for the family. After stepping back as senior members of the British royal family, they signed a contract for speaking engagements with the Harry Walker Agency, all the while heading their charity foundation, Archewell.

Soon they also announced their plans for starting a production company, which has not been named as of yet. With the new deal signed with Netflix, this production company of the couple will be making documentaries as well as films, scripted shows, and kids’ programs for the streaming service.
In a statement given to The New York Times, the couple announced that the premise of the shows will be so that they “share impactful content that unlocks action.”
The statement read –
“Our lives, both independent of each other, and as a couple, have allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit: of courage, resilience and the need for connection. Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shining a light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope. As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us, as is powerful storytelling through a truthful and relatable lens. We are pleased to work with Ted and the team at Netflix whose unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action.”
Ted Sarandos, the co-CEO and Chief Content Officer of Netflix also came forward with a statement about how “excited” they are about this new agreement.
He said – “Harry and Meghan have inspired millions of people all around the world with their authenticity, optimism, and leadership. We’re incredibly proud they have chosen Netflix as their creative home — and are excited about telling stories with them that can help build resilience and increase understanding for audiences everywhere.”
Before marrying Prince Harry, Meghan Markle was an actress and could be seen in quite a few movies and television shows, including Aaron Korsh’s Suits, where she played series regular Rachel Zane until 2018. That was her last venture in the entertainment industry before she tied the knot with Prince Harry. After stepping back from their royal duties, Meghan Markle went on to narrate the Disneynature movie Elephant by Mark Linfield.
