The new, official Lois Lane of DC, Rachel Brosnahan, became a household name with Prime Video’s widely watched comedy-drama The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The American actor played the character of Miriam ‘Midge’ Maisel, a stand-up comedian in the popular show. The actor made headlines when she was chosen for the James Gunn-led Superman: Legacy for the character of Lois Lane alongside David Corenswet who would be playing the character of the Kryptonian superhero.

Rachel Brosnahan led- The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel aired in 2017. After spanning over five seasons, the comedy-drama came to its finale season in 2023. During the Red Carpet of Emmy Awards 2023, the 33-year-old actor spoke about her show The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and her upcoming James Gunn project Superman: Legacy.

While talking to the reputed media outlet, The Hollywood Reporter, during the Red Carpet of the 2023 Emmys, Rachel Brosnahan shaded the studios and streamers of the show with her response. The actor said-

“We’ve been saying it so much, I’m sure we have broken records at this point, but we feel just so lucky that we got to end it and that we knew that the last season was our last season.”

She further said-

“We have all been a part of things that get unceremoniously canceled in the middle of the night and you never get that opportunity to say goodbye. So we feel really lucky that we got to say goodbye to these characters and that we got to do it all as a family.”

The House Of Cards actor directly spoke about the current condition of Hollywood, which came more into prominence due to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, when the shows were frequently canceled or postponed due to the dual strikes.

During the 81st Golden Globe Awards, the American actor spoke about her upcoming DC project Superman: Legacy.

As reported by the media outlet Extra TV, Rachel Brosnahan spoke about the character of Lois Lane.

“We’ve been having a lot of great conversations, David and I, with James Gunn the director and we’ve been talking a lot about where this project fits into the canon of the ‘Supermans’ that we know so hopefully this will be putting our own stamp on things.”

While talking to the Associated Press, during the Red Carpet of the Critic’s Choice Awards, the actor said-

“We have big shoes to fill, but we’re excited to try and fill them. The best part about working on this is that from top to bottom, from James to Peter Safran, everyone at DC and David, we’re all just nerds.”

James Gunn-led Superman: Legacy is slated for release on July 11, 2025.
