There were a lot of people that cared about me more than I cared about myself that really wanted me to do things I wasn’t ready for. I had to hit my rock bottom, and I had to do it at my time. I’d like to think and hope that I’m in a better place now.”
After being diagnosed with bipolar disorder in her 20s, Selena Gomez has been to four treatment centers. In interviews, the former Disney star has bravely shared the harrowing experiences of her struggles with depression.
Selena Gomez told Rolling Stone,
“It just was me not being able to move from my bed. I didn’t want anyone to talk to me. My friends would bring me food because they love me, but none of us knew what it was. Sometimes it was weeks I’d be in bed, to where even walking downstairs would get me out of breath.”
