Ryan Reynolds Sparks Rumors of Close Friend Taylor Swift Joining Deadpool 3 With Cryptic Comment
Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds has been making headlines for a while now as the rumor mill for his upcoming superhero movie Deadpool 3 is running overtime. Not so long ago, the actor, a native of Vancouver, received the Order of British Columbia which is the highest form of citizen recognition in British Columbia.
During an interview post receiving the honor from B.C. Lt.-Gov. Janet Austin in a private ceremony in Vancouver, Ryan Reynolds addressed some of the rumors surrounding Deadpool 3 among other things. One of these was whether or not his wife Blake Lively’s best pal, globally recognized pop star Taylor Swift, would be seen in the movie, a speculation that has been going around for a while.
Ryan Reynolds On Whether Taylor Swift Will Appear in Deadpool 3
Deadpool 3 has been the talk of the town, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and Deadpool fandom, to be more precise, ever since it was announced that Hugh Jackman, who had retired from his X-Men character years ago, would be reprising his role as Wolverine once again.
The third installment, which is going to be the 34th film in the MCU, will obviously see Ryan Reynolds reprise his role as the comic mercenary Wade Wilson aka Deadpool. So far, the movie is also known to be starring Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Jennifer Garner, and even Emma Corrin even though her role as the lead villain is being kept tightly under rumors.
Earlier, Taylor Swift was rumored to be starring as Dazzler in Deadpool 3. Addressing those rumors, Ryan Reynolds, who happens to be close to the songstress due to his wife’s friendship with Swift, told Vancouver Sun:
“Yeah, I’ve heard that one. I love it (the gossip). I think it is a sign of how eager people are to get a peek behind the curtain in this world. Every single one of these secrets and spoilers will be revealed on July 26.”
Deadpool 3 is set to be released on July 26, 2024, which will happen only if there are no more setbacks in the filming and post-production process of the movie. Apparently, fans will have to calm down and wait until then to find out.
Deadpool 3 Director Shawn Levy Also Addressed the Taylor Swift Rumors
Deadpool 3 is one of the most anticipated forthcoming MCU movies. The anticipation to find out whether or not Taylor Swift will be joining the star cast of the movie only adds to the excitement of the fans who have been eagerly waiting for the release of the movie for quite a while.
For those unversed, Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy, who has previously collaborated with Ryan Reynolds on Free Guy and The Adam Project, is also friends with the Bad Blood singer. Addressing the rumors about Swift’s casting as Dazzler, Levy told Josh Horowitz on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast: “It sure escapes the lips of social media every day, and that’s all I’m gonna say. It sounds like a great idea.”

During the same interview, Levy had also told Horowitz that it is getting easier to cast talented celebrities in the upcoming Deadpool movie due to the big names already attached to it. So, the chances of the All Too Well singer getting cast as Dazzler may be low, but they are not absent.
