Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa have made their mark as one of the best pair of talk show hosts in the industry. Having first joined hands in 2017, the duo have gone from strength to strength, making Live With Kelly and Ryan one of the most-watched daytime talk shows out there. Their on-screen camaraderie is a delight to watch, making it one of the fan favorites. It is a shame that fans will not get to witness their chemistry any longer, as Ryan Seacrest has finally called it quits, leaving the show after 6 illustrious years.

Ryan Seacrest has not had a lot of time because of his multiple involvements

Ryan Seacrest joined Live in 2017, succeeding Michael Strahan as the host of the ABC Network shows. 6 years down the lane, his career has grown in leaps and bounds. Apart from being a part of American Idol, he has also been featured in his syndicated radio show, On Air With Ryan Seacrest since 2018.

The pressure of being increasingly involved with all these shows had taken its toll on him, with the exhaustion remarkably ostensible on his face every time he took to the set of Live With Kelly and Ryan. The fatigue also resulted in him not being able to be a part of an increasing number of Live episodes over the past six months.

The exhaustion on Seacrest’s face was apparent to ABC executives as well. When he once showed up on American Idol. Fans were worried that he had a stroke live on air. He clarified later on that it was ‘exhaustion’ that had gotten to him.

His absence was being witnessed, not only by the fans but by the people in charge of Live as well. ABC chiefs were noticing his absence. An insider spoke of the situation,

“Some of Ryan’s absences created tension with everyone involved on the show. But everyone cares about him and respects him and just wants to make sure he’s OK.”

His hectic work schedule also involved a lot of traveling which took its toll on the 48-year-old.

Mark Consuelos is set to replace Ryan Seacrest on Live

It was after considerable thought that they took the final call to replace him with Mark Consuelos, Kelly Ripa’s husband. Consuelos had often filled in for Seacrest, including a week-long stint in October. It was because of this that people deemed that his appointment didn’t come as a shock.

Once Seacrest parted ways with Live, rumors that something was not right were running amok. But the insider cleared the doubts regarding that as well. The insider said,

“Kelly and Ryan wanted to put whatever issues — arising from the workplace and Ryan’s other responsibilities — they had behind them. They’ve known each other for 20 years and, regardless of recent strains, it is a real friendship.”

Let’s hope that they can really put their differences behind them.
