Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have recently tied the knot. Both celebrities, after multiple relationships and partners, have decided to settle down with each other. The Batman actor had been in a romantic relationship with the American singer before this recent stint as well.
“Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient,” wrote Lopez in a message signed as Jennifer Lynn Affleck. Indicating the two-decade-long gap between their dating phases. Following their initial encounter on the set of the 2003 romantic comedy “Gigli,” the famous couple previously dated from 2002 to 2004. In April 2021, they got back together after the singer of “Let’s Get Loud” split up with MLB star Alex Rodriguez.
Surname trouble for Jennifer Lopez
In a statement, County Clerk Lynn Marie Goya said, “I can confirm that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez obtained a married license last night, but their marriage certificate has not yet been filed.” Records submitted to the court reveal, that the couple wed on Saturday in Las Vegas. Noticeably, J. Lo’s last name in the submitted documents is listed as both Affleck and Lopez. In a mix of first names and post-wedding surname changes, with Affleck’s ex-wife being named the same. Twitterati were quick to troll J.Lo for the ‘name change’:

The two exchanged their vows and gave each other rings that, in the words of Lopez, they’ll wear for the rest of their lives. “When love is real, the only thing that matters in marriage is one another and the promise we make to love, care, understand, be patient, loving and good to one another,” Lopez wrote. “We had that. And so much more. Best night of our lives.” J.Lo was quoted saying.
Will the marriage last?
“Exactly what we wanted. Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world,” she recalled. “Behind us two men held hands and held each other.
