Shakira Planning to Insult Her Ex-Boyfriend Gerard Pique on a Global Stage By Making Him Wear Her Name on His Barcelona Jersey?
Gerard Pique became the recipient of universal wrath when word of his being disloyal to Shakira broke out a few months ago. The Barcelona defender and Latina pop star had been together for over 12 years and shared 2 sons, but it all went down the drain when it was revealed that Pique was having an affair with a 23-year-old woman, Clara Chia Marti.
The former couple is now engaged in a vicious custody battle for their kids and all the while Pique keeps humiliating Shakira by indulging in extensive PDA with his new girlfriend. However, it looks like the Waka Waka singer has finally got a golden opportunity to take the revenge of the century.
A Shakira-Pique reunion no one anticipated
According to a website for the Spanish daily El Español, which cited a Barcelona-based sports reporter Moises Llorens, there is a major possibility of the Whenever, Wherever singer signing a licensing deal with Barcelona FC, the club that her ex plays for, and have her name flaunted on its jersey. The report suggested,
“Barcelona is planning the ‘reunion’ of Gerard Piqué with Shakira.”
However, there has been no comment by Barcelona FC itself on the entire matter.
The Spotify Barcelona FC deal that might make it happen
Barcelona FC players recently donned jerseys emblazoned with the ‘OVO’ owl logo – the symbol of the brand that Canadian pop star Drake markets, during a match last Sunday. The match in question saw Barca lose to Real Madrid in the ‘El Clásico’ series by 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid.
Barcelona had signed a licensing deal with Spotify which entailed the logo on jersey rule. Drake became the first musician ever to surpass 50 billion streams on Spotify. Therefore, Barca players wore his logo in respect and to celebrate the artist’s milestone achievement.
