Shakira Reportedly Relies on Romance With Old Friend to Move On From Gerard Pique and Their Ugly Breakup
After all the drama surrounding her split from ex Gerard Pique, Shakira has reportedly been involved in a new-found romance. As far as it is known, her long-time friend and musician Alejandro Sanz has been by her side since her break up. Sanz has also expressed his love and support for the singer on social media.
Moreover, there was a report previously about Shakira moving back to Miami where she could spend time with a mystery lover. And according to more recent reports, it seems like the mystery man is Sanz after all.
Shakira Reportedly In a Relationship With Musician Alejandro Sanz
After Shakira and Gerard Pique split last year, the latter quickly moved on with his new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti. However, Shakira remained single for a while more focused on her music and children. And after a series of diss songs about her ex, she has been recently reported to be in a romantic relationship with an old friend. According to various reports, the Loca singer has been romancing musician Alejandro Sanz.
The two have known each other for a long time. Sanz has worked on Shakira’s songs La Tortura (2005) and Te Lo Agradezco (2009). And apart from their professional connections, the pair has also developed a solid friendship reportedly over the years. Furthermore, according to Sports Manor as per Noticias RCN (a Spanish publication), Sanz willingly offered the singer his support as she dealt with her split. There are more instances of their closeness as per reports.
One is that the musician helped her out with the custody battle over Pique and Shakira’s kids. Moreover, Sanz was the one who recommended a good lawyer. Also as per The Mirror, the Rabiosa singer had been reported to be leaving for Miami following the split, to spend with a mystery lover.
And a more recent report by Noticias RCN revealed Sanz and Shakira were looking for a 20 million dollar mansion in Miami. Therefore as far as reports go, the Colombian singer has a person close to her after the split with Pique.

Gerard Pique and Shakira met back in 2010 and soon after the two became romantically involved with each other. And within their 12 years of relationship, the pair had two sons, Sasha and Milan. Unfortunately even more than a decade-long relationship could not prevent the pair from splitting up.
The pair ended things with each other last year. Soon after, the former footballer moved on with his much younger girlfriend Clara Chia Marti.
Furthermore, after the split, Pique agreed to give full custody of their two kids to their mother. This means Sasha and Milan will be living with Shakira in Miami near their maternal family.
