“She helped me guide through that”: Sandra Bullock Helped Co-Star Land Lead Role In Netflix’s Top 10 Most Watched Shows

Lily Collins Followed Sandra Bullock’s Advice To Play Lead Part In Emily In Paris
Last year, as they prepared to grace Glamour’s January cover, on- and off-screen BFFs, Lily Collins and Ashley Park (better known as Emily and Mindy in Emily in Paris)—discussed the benefits, drawbacks, and power of friendship.
Collins and Park agreed that their friendship has given them both the confidence to believe in themselves in ways they never imagined possible. Moreover, the Inheritance actress talked candidly about how her first acting role helped pave the way for a successful career.
She cited The Blind Side as the film that had set her on the road to recognition. Although Sandra Bullock was her first co-star, she quickly accepted her as a mentor.
Collins reflected on her role in the 2009 drama The Blind Side, which brought Bullock her Oscar, saying,
“My first film was with Sandra Bullock, and she helped guide me through that experience. We stayed in touch, and she’s just such a warm, wonderful spirit, who just really took me under her wing.”
Soon after, Collins also co-starred with Julia Roberts in the fantastical adaptation of the 2012 Snow White story, Mirror, Mirror. According to the 32-year-old actress, Roberts “is the same way” as Bullock, in terms of her supportive and uplifting personality.
Julia Roberts Also Mentored Lily Collins
Sandra Bullock wasn’t the only person who had a profound effect on Lily Collins’ life. Julia Roberts has remained a significant figure in her life who has mentored and helped her ever since they first shot their movie together.
Even though she portrayed the evil queen in Mirror, Mirror, she couldn’t have been friendlier to Collins.
“On Mirror, Mirror she’s playing my evil queen, and yet she couldn’t have been more warm.”
The two became friends after meeting on the set of Mirror, Mirror, and have since formed a mentoring relationship. Every time the actress needed guidance, Roberts was there to provide it. She also helped Collins in learning how to navigate movie sets and how they can function.
And now that Lily Collins is a well-known and seasoned actress enjoying her career, she is still making close friends and allies on set, including Ashley Park, her co-star in Emily in Paris. She referred to her connection with Park as “like a friendship soulmate”.
Collins further described it as,
“Such an amazing experience to meet someone as an adult, when you’re an adult, and gravitate towards them so strongly. Ashley makes me not question and doubt who I am now.”
Well, their relationship has greatly influenced how they interact on the set of Emily in Paris.
