“She is looking a little nasty”: Jamie Lee Curtis Makes Nami Actor Emily Rudd Desperate After Her Confession About One Piece Live Action Series
Jamie Lee Curtis is a Hollywood veteran that has been in the field for more than four decades. She is labeled as the scream queen for her work being predominantly of the horror and slasher genres. However, her filmography is quite expansive as she has left no stone unturned when it comes to entertainment industry, and now she is all set to explore the anime world.
Anime is a form of entertainment that does not have boundaries. It welcomes every single person who might be interested with open arms so although it is surprising that the 64-year-old actress watches anime, it is not entirely shocking. However, in addition to watching, Lee Curtis also wishes to play a character in her favorite anime series One Piece.
Emily Rudd Yearns the Casting of Jamie Lee Curtis in One Piece
Long before Netflix announced its live-action adaptation of One Piece, Jamie Lee Curtis had let everyone know which character she would love to play. At the San Diego Comic Con in 2016, when asked which character she would like to be from a TV series, Curtis didn’t have to think twice before saying that she would love to be Nico Robin from One Piece.
Following Curtis’ interest in portraying a One Piece character, Emily Rudd who plays the character of Nami in the anime series expressed her yearning to have the Halloween actress cast in the series through her Instagram story in which she replied to a fan’s question regarding which Hollywood actor she would like to see alongside One Piece live action’s cast.
Rudd enthusiastically replied to the fan’s question by mentioning Jamie Lee Curtis’ Instagram handle and wrote “i am BEGGING!!!!!!!” Judging by the number of exclamation marks at the end of her answer, Emily Rudd must be really desperate to have Curtis join the next season of Eiichiro Oda’s adored franchise One Piece.
Jamie Lee Curtis is Really Interested in One Piece
Since the Freaky Friday actress might be a little too old to play Nick Robin, she has shown her interest in portraying Dr. Kureha who is the adoptive mother and mentor of Tony Tony Chopper in the series. Even her daughter Ruby Guest said that Curtis is very interested in the role. The Knives Out actress said:
“She wears those really low bell bottoms. She’s looking a little nasty but she has long, kind of stringy gray hair, and my Ruby said that that would be what I would play.”
One Piece doesn’t seem to be a passing interest for Jamie Lee Curtis which is uncommon in the present world where as soon as the current trend becomes overhyped, a new one is started with everyone following as if it is a cult. The actress must be actually invested in the series to have discovered the character of Nick Robin which is properly introduced way too later for someone to catch on easily.
