The Queen’s heartbreaking reaction to the news of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepping down as senior royals have been unveiled. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a big announcement that they would be leaving their designation as working royals in early 2020. A source close to Her Majesty claimed that she was hurt by the decision that led to the announcement. The couple was permitted to get eliminated from the Firm, but they were not authorized to use their HRH titles in their quest to become financially independent.
The Queen thanked them for their work
The Queen thanked the couple for working dedicatedly at the time. She also added that it was the hope of her entire family that the day’s agreement is going to permit them to initiate building a happy and peaceful new life. However, the true feelings of the monarch have been revealed in a new book which is named The Royals by Katie Nicholl.
An excerpt which is published in Vanity Fair claims the late Queen Elizabeth II confided to a close friend that she was not happy with the decision. As per the sources, it came to be known that the queen was very hurt and said that she didn’t know, she didn’t care, and she didn’t want to think about it anymore.
It is claimed that the 96-year-old monarch saw very little of her great-grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s decision to leave the UK.
King Charles’ disappointment
It was also mentioned that King Charles III was very much hurt and disappointed at that time, but he has always mentioned that his love for Prince Harry was unconditional. They always keep on saying that His Majesty wants to have an active role as a grandparent to Archie and Lilibet. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to go back to the U.S. soon. When the Queen passed away, they were on a charity tour of the UK and Europe.
Prince Harry dashed to Balmoral but unfortunately arrived after the demise of the queen. They stayed in the UK for the funeral and other duties as part of the family, and were seen side-by-side with the Prince and Princess of Wales as they greeted mourners at the doors of Windsor Castle.
Prince Harry was granted permission to wear his military uniform for a special tribute to his grandmother over the weekend, but he wore a regular mourning suit for both of the services that were held on Monday. He was seen walking behind the Queen’s coffin alongside his brother and father.
