Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have been in the headlines this year for their highly publicized defamation trial which concluded in June. The Pirates of the Caribbean star sued his ex-wife for defaming him in an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post back in 2018. In the op-ed, the Aquaman star claimed that she was a victim of domestic abuse. The court ruled in favor of Depp as the op-ed was proved to be about him and Heard was ordered to pay $10 million in damages. Reports claim that Johnny Depp sent a text message back to his agent back in 2016 in which he made a prediction that came true in 2022.

Actor Johnny Depp and Amber Heard got married in February 2015 but their relationship came to an end in August 2016. Reports claim that the two had troubles in their relationship and Depp sent a message to his agent predicting Amber Heard’s fate. He wrote,

“She’s begging for total global humiliation. She’s gonna get it.”

The prediction somewhat came true as Amber Heard’s popularity saw a steep fall and people on social media even demanded her removal from DC’s upcoming Aquaman 2.

Johnny Depp sued his ex-wife, Amber Heard, for defamation over an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post back in 2018. The op-ed was titled, “I spoke up against sexual violence – and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.” The actress claimed to be a “public figure representing domestic abuse” in the article, without naming Johnny Depp.

On June 1st, 2022, the jury concluded that the editorial was about Depp and ordered the actress to pay the actor for compensatory and punitive damages, which added up to roughly $10 million. She also received $2 million in compensatory damages. The actress reportedly lived in Miami after the court decided, for a very long time.

After the court’s decision, Amber Heard was the center of attention as people on social media began bullying the actress. She claimed to be broke when she was ordered to pay Depp, however, she went to the Hamptons, then Israel, and then finally went to Spain this year. She once again became a target as Johnny Depp’s fans criticized her saying that she claimed to be broke when she was ordered to pay the actor but had enough money to travel continuously. Many petitions were filed on social media demanding the actress’ removal from DC’s upcoming Aquaman 2. So, in a way, Depp’s prediction did come true.
