A daughter often inherits the qualities and traits of her mother, and this is especially evident in the case of Ronda Rousey, known as ‘The Baddest Woman on the Planet.’ Last year, Rousey gave birth to a daughter named La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne. It seems that she has also inherited her mother’s resilience and toughness. Fast and Furious star Ronda Rousey took to Instagram to commend her daughter for being a resilient little fighter, calling her a ‘Road Warrior.’

Despite becoming a mother, Rousey made a swift return to WWE just four months after giving birth. She made her comeback at the 30-woman Royal Rumble and emerged victorious. Rousey’s dedication to motherhood is evident as she never entrusts the care of her baby to others. She travels extensively with her little one, ensuring that they are always together.

Ronda Rousey’s Daughter Is Just As Tough As Her

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE during the Stars on Mars preview event, Ronda Rousey, the former UFC champion and renowned mixed martial artist, couldn’t contain her excitement as she talked about her daughter, La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne, who will be turning 2 years old in September. Rousey proudly shared that her little girl takes after her in terms of toughness and resilience.

Rousey, 36, exclaimed

“She’s definitely going to be a tough one. Pain doesn’t seem to faze her much. “Just today, she fell and scraped her knee, and she barely even cried. She just toughed it out with a little grunt,”

Rousey added with admiration. She playfully joked that the world may not be prepared for the incredible force that her daughter possesses.

Rousey and her husband, Travis Browne, share the joy of raising La’akea together. The couple tied the knot in Browne’s hometown of Hawaii in August 2017 and welcomed their daughter in September 2021. While Rousey has shared numerous photos of her daughter on Instagram, the filming of Stars on Mars temporarily separated them. The show features a cast of “celebronauts,” including Lance Armstrong and Tallulah Willis, competing in simulated missions on a human colony on Mars.

Staying Away From Her Daughter was very challenging for Ronda Rousey

During the production of Stars on Mars, a captivating series featuring renowned personalities like Lance Armstrong and Tallulah Willis participating in simulated missions on a Mars colony, Ronda Rousey had to endure the heartache of being separated from her daughter, La’akea. Rousey openly expresses how challenging it was for her to be away from her baby during the filming process, especially considering La’akea was only 1½ years old at the time.

The longer Rousey stayed away, the more her sense of guilt as a mother intensified. She found herself having a great experience on set, but the emotional burden of being apart from her child weighed heavily on her. Rousey reveals that the accumulating “mom guilt” became more difficult to handle than any other aspect of the whole experience.

“That was the most challenging thing, just being away from my baby,” Rousey says of making the series, which is hosted by William Shatner. “I had a really hard time being away from her, and she was only 1½ when I was gone. It’s the cutest age and everything like that.”

As for Rousey’s performance on Stars on Mars, viewers will have to wait until the show airs to find out. However, nothing could compare to the joy Rousey felt when she finally reunited with La’akea after the filming concluded.

Describing their reunion, Rousey shares the beautiful moment when La’akea eagerly leaped into her arms and then excitedly ran around the house with her.

“When she saw me, she wanted to jump into my arms and then she wanted me to put her down and just run around the house with me and then pick her up, and it was when she finally calmed down enough for me to hold her in my arms and for us to watch Frozen together, it was really our celebration. Then that night — she sleeps in the bed with us — and with her little head in my nook, and I fell sleep holding her that night,” Rousey recalls. “It was the most amazing feeling after being away for so long.”

Eventually, when the little one settled down, they celebrated by watching the movie Frozen together. Later that night, with La’akea nestled against her, Rousey fell asleep feeling an indescribable sense of contentment after being apart for so long.
