The socialite garnered headlines recently after Balenciaga was under fire for their recent bizarre advertisements featuring kids. The TV reality star is known to be one of the biggest supporters of the fashion house who has often been seen sporting their pieces.
Regarding the recent controversy related to the luxury fashion house, the SKIMS founder has addressed the same and reportedly is upset over it.
A Brief Note on The Balenciaga Controversy
The luxury fashion house, Balenciaga came under fire when they flaunted their new advertisement featuring kids holding teddy bears dressed in bondage-style harnesses.
Over a series of ads, one showed what appeared to be documented about a child p*rnography case in the Supreme Court sitting on a desk. According to a Fox News report, photographer Gabriele Galimberti stated that the images were part of a series called Toy Stories.
That garnered major criticism from the fans. Not just the fashion house, but the American socialite, Kim Kardashian was also involved in it as she recently shared a photo wearing the collection from the Adidas x Balenciaga collaboration which seemed to shade ex-husband Kanye West, who was dropped by both brands.
Kim Kardashian Addressed The Balenciaga Controversy
The 42-year-old socialite, as per New York Post has recently addressed the backlash Balenciaga is facing from the netizens. An insider told the outlet that the businesswoman is disturbed by the recent campaign.
“Like everyone else, Kim was incredibly upset and disturbed by the holiday campaign. As a mother, she has no tolerance for abuse or exploitation of children on any level.”
The outlet reported that the socialite, who shares four children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm with her former husband Kanye West hopes that the fashion house should never let that happen again.
“After speaking with the Balenciaga team privately, as well as seeing that they immediately removed the campaign images and issued a public apology, she is hopeful that they have learned from this incident and that it never happens again.”
On Wednesday, photographer Gabriele Galimberti in a statement claimed that he was not responsible for what was in the images. For the unversed, he was in the process of that campaign.
“I am not in a position to comment [on] Balenciaga’s choices, but I must stress that I was not entitled in whatsoever manner to neither choose the products, nor the models, nor the combination of the same,” Galimberti wrote.
Before the socialite’s statement, many fans were wondering why Kardashian was not addressing the campaign’s recent backlash. However, she does not tolerate any abuse towards kids as per the outlet’s report.
