Sinister Six by Marvel Comics is a group of supervillains who usually appear in the comics featuring Spider-Man. The team of super villains, led by Doctor Octopus is written and drawn from the Spider-Man’s list of enemies and includes Vulture, Sandman, Electro, Mysterio, and Kraven the Hunter. It has been noted that Doctor Octopus who appeared in issue three of the Marvel Comics has remained the leader, even though the Sinister Six has had multiple variations of compositions.

Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 which was released in 2014 featured several enemies including Vulture, Rhino, Doc Ock, Green Goblin, and Electro which was meant to showcase to the audience the formation of Sinister Six. Sinister Six reportedly back in the production line

According to industry insider Daniel Richtman via MeriStation, Sony Pictures’ Sinister Six which was reportedly called off earlier this year has been put back into the production line. Richtman shared that Sony Pictures is currently developing the project, which is going to feature the spin-off characters.

Now that SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes have reached a conclusion and everyone seems to be excited to go back to doing what they love, the news of Sony Pictures creating their own Spider-verse started to circle a few weeks ago especially after it was noted that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man could bridge the gap between Marvel Cinematic Universe and Sony Pictures hinting a big crossover for the fourth part of Spider-Man movie.

In the third installment of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man by Marvel Studios, Sony-Universe’s Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield who had previously portrayed the character of Spider-Man in their respective movies appeared along with Venom’s Tom Hardy. The appearance of Sony Pictures’ character in the MCU hints that there could be a big crossover waiting to happen.

Andrew Garfield to reprise her role as Spider-Man for Sinister Six?

It has also been said that Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man who introduced the audience to supervillains in 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 would be a great choice for Sinister Six, as he becomes the sixth member of the group after Norman Osborne manipulated him even though currently it’s Tom Holland who portrays the character of Peter Parker a.k.a., Spider-Man. However, there has been no confirmation or news from the studios regarding the project.

In the recently released book, MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios, it was revealed that Sony Pictures was planning to include Marvel’s Savage Land along with Spider-Man. It read via Screenrant,

“By the end of 2024, Drew Goddard had draft that took Spider-Man and his villains to the Savage Land, where Spider-Man would ride a T-Rex.”

However, Sony Pictures’ upcoming projects include Madame Web featuring Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney, and the first preview of the movie was also released making the audience excited for its arrival. Kraven the Hunter featuring Aaron Taylor Johnson, Russel Crowe, and Fred Hechinger, also shared the first trailer, which surprised the audience with a new origin story.
