“Somebody could be using me, You don’t know their intentions”: America’s Heartthrob Camila Cabello Gets Paranoid and Refuses to Find Love on Dating Apps
Less than a year after Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes’s high-profile split in November 2021, the Havana singer is out there to see other people. But the Cuban-American singer-songwriter is not really ready to look for love through dating apps online. Cabello recently revealed in an interview that she is not into dating apps as she gave it a try but deleted it within 24 hours.
The American sweetheart Camilla Cabello recently opened up on her views about dating apps on The Drew Barrymore Show, where the singer dished on being on a dating app and why she got off. On Monday, the Havana singer revealed she was on “a dating app for like 24 hours and then left” in a short video posted on the show’s Instagram handle.
Camila Cabello gave dating apps a shot but it didn’t work out
The singer revealed during an interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, which will air Oct. 18, “I was on a dating app for like 24 hours then I left”. Sharing about her online dating experience, Camila Cabello recalled, “The first guy that DM’d me was like aspiring singer-songwriter from Nashville and I was just like, I feel weird cause somebody could be using me. You don’t know their intentions.”

With that being said, Camila Cabello noted that she prefers a different way of finding a connection. “When you are just trying to make friends, you’re gonna meet guys that are vetted by your friends,” she added, “which is amazing.” The singer-songwriter believes in the old-fashioned way of meeting people through friends and has no problem with it.
Looks like Camila Cabello has found a new beau
Camila’s chat about dating apps comes after she was spotted in August with Austin Kevitch—who, ironically enough, is the founder of the Lox Club dating app. Though she hasn’t yet officially or publicly commented on the new romance, the former Fifth Harmony member has been spotted around Los Angeles with Lox Club founder Austin Kevitch a few times over the past few months.
So who is Kevitch? For one, his company Lox Club is a new dating app that hopes to remove the awkwardness from dating and has received investments from Lil Yachty and Bhad Bhabie. In an interview with Bustle earlier this year, Kevitch identified himself as “very single,” and even said that he himself used his app- though it’s clear that Kevitch probably said it jokingly. Despite his efforts to make online dating “a more fun, immersive experience,” it looks like he may have met his rumored girlfriend the old-school way: through a mutual friend. According to Page Six, the two met through Cabello’s Cinderella co-star Nicholas Galitzine.

Are Camilla Cabello and Shawn Mendes still friends?
Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes started out as good friends, then became one of pop music’s most talked-about couples. More than one year later, the twosome adopted a puppy while living together during the coronavirus pandemic. However, things fizzled out between the pair the following year. The longtime friends announced their split in November 2021 via a joint statement, in which they explained that their “love for one another as humans is stronger than ever.”
A source exclusively told Us Weekly later that month that the musicians “still have a ton of love and respect for each other” after parting ways. “At this point, they’ve decided they need a break from each other to evaluate where each of them is at. They’re not saying never, just not now,” the insider said at the time. “It does hurt, but they’re both certain this is for the best.” The source noted that the attention “became overwhelming” for the duo, especially when they were getting grilled on how serious they were and whether or not they were going to get engaged.
