Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Zooms Past $51M Opening Day, Beats Predecessor by Huge Margin With Oscar Isaac’s Magic
One of the most eagerly awaited films of 2023 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, has finally landed in theaters. The highly anticipated sequel of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse brings back cast members like Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker. The follow-up of the Spider-Verse project gave us an action animation spectacular and a cast of endearing new characters.
The animated movie added new characters to the sequel. New characters include Miguel O’Hara (Oscar Isaac), Jessica Drew (Issa Rae), Spider-Man India (Karan Soni), and Spider-Punk (Daniel Kaluuya). Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Becomes Biggest Box Office on opening day
The highly anticipated animated movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse dropped in theaters and is performing brilliantly. The sequel of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse earned $51.75 million on opening day. The animated superhero adventure is already exceeding expectations for an opening weekend of around $80 million.
The movie features the return of the cast Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker. The sequel focusing on the multiverse also brings in additional characters. Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099, voiced by Oscar Isaac, has become an exceptional character.
Isaac’s character was introduced in the comics in 1992. Spider-Man 2099 is shown as a formidable foe to Miles in the movie.
The first film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2018, performed more like a conventional animated film, earning $35 million domestically in its opening weekend before bringing in $190 million throughout the Christmas period. However, this new sequel has the potential to surpass the opening of its predecessor by more than three times. The $51.75 million total represents the third-highest opening day for an animated film in history. Into the Spider-Verse collected roughly $375 million worldwide before ending its theatrical run.
The sequel to the Spider-Verse trilogy has positive reviews and a 95% approval rating on the review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes. Oscar Isaac’s Spider-Man 2099 magic has worked in the film’s favor, as it is becoming a big box office.

Spider-Verse will have a threequel
The multiversal event that began in Into the Spider-Verse is expanded to a superbly fantastic level in Across the Spider-Verse. Another significant fight is also promised for our Spider-Men after the most recent Spider-Man film. The ending of the sequel has confirmed the release of a threequel Beyond the Spider-Verse. The movie is slated to release in March 2024.
While the cast for the film is not yet confirmed, Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld will return as Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy, respectively. They will be joined by Oscar Isaac as Miguel O’Hara (Spider-Man 2099), Issa Rae as Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman), and Daniel Kaluuya as Hobie Brown (Spider-Punk).
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is running in theaters worldwide.
