Frankie Muniz who played Malcolm and Bryan Cranston who played Hal, were undeniably the reason why Malcolm in the Middle developed a strong fan base. Now after almost more than a decade, a video has been surfacing on social media, notable X (earlier Twitter) which captured the heartfelt moment of the on-screen and beloved father-son reuniting.

Cranston was extremely thrilled to meet Muniz, and thankfully fans could see it through the video shared on X and have shared their thoughts about it:

In the video, Frankie Muniz can be seen surprising Bryan Cranston who was accompanied by his Breaking Bad co-star Aaron Paul. Cranston gives Muniz a tight hug, while Paul watches the heartwarming reunion and then shakes hands with the Big Fat Liar star.

Bryan Cranston Wanted To Reunite With Malcolm in the Middle Cast

This goes back to this year’s summer when Bryan Cranston mentioned his curiosity about the cast of his hit sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. The show was well-received by fans as they enjoyed the extraordinary humor and the perfect blend of drama and excitement in it.

During an interview with GQ, the Asteroid City star revealed his plans to revisit the character for a 20th-anniversary reunion project, as the show’s creator Linwood Boomer approached him.

“I’m curious about that family 20 years later. What happened to them? Where are they? What are the kids doing? They’re grown men now.”

And now that Cranston has finally met his on-screen son, Malcolm, he must be intensely satisfied. The actor also mentioned temporarily returning from work responsibilities in 2026, to enjoy life and have a long vacation. The Jerry & Margo Go Large star said:

“I want to go for day trips and have the fire in the fireplace and drink wine with new friends and not read scripts. It’s not going to be like, ‘Oh, I’ll read and see what I’m going to do.’ No, it’s a pause. It’s a stop. I won’t be thinking about [work]. I’m not going to be taking phone calls.”

Bryan Cranston mentioned securing notable roles throughout his acting career, and now that he’s content with it, the actor plans to shut down his production company and sell half of the shares of Dos Hombres, a mezcal company co-founded in 2019 by Cranston and Paul.
