David Corenswet stated that the comic books that compelled him the most are Calvin and Hobbes carted by Bill Waterson. He said:

“I read Calvin and Hobbes. Calvin and Hobbes is my favorite comic book. It’s playful and fun-loving and also deeply existential and poetic.”

Corenswet explained his profound love for Calvin and Hobbes, based on a six-year-old lad Calvin, and his tiger Hobbes. For the little boy, Hobbes isn’t a stuffed toy but his confidant who always accompanies him. The actor added:

“They won’t shy away from tough subjects. They deal with it, and they’re like, Yeah You know, those things happen, and they’re sad and yeah.”

Calvin and Hobbes fascinated David Corenswet not only for its wit and humor but also because the comic strip remains relevant to the present day.
