The London Metropolitan Police detained a man outside Buckingham Palace on Tuesday after he allegedly dropped suspected shotgun cartridges into the royal grounds only four days before King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s Coronation ceremony. Cordons were placed in place after the man was also discovered to be in possession of a suspicious bag, and the suspect at the scene is still being detained on suspicion of having a dangerous weapon.

What Happened And What Buckingham Palace Said On The Matter?

The detained person reportedly approached the palace’s gates in central London on Tuesday at around 7 o’clock and tossed a number of items before being apprehended, according to the Metropolitan Police.

According to reports, the guy has previously been observed at the Palace saying, “I’m going to kill the King.” Royal supporters camped out along the Mall to guarantee front-row seats for the historic event this weekend heard the sound of an officer-performed controlled explosion close to the gates.

There have been no reports of any shots fired, or any injuries to officers or members of the public,” Joseph McDonald, the chief superintendent, was quoted in the statement. The statement said that the objects reportedly thrown by the man into the palace grounds were being examined.

King Charles and Queen Camilla were not present at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday when the event occurred. Heads of state and other dignitaries will attend King Charles’ coronation on Saturday, so police and security services are getting ready. The historic occasion is expected to draw sizable crowds to London’s streets, according to authorities.

The incident is a matter for the Met Police, according to Buckingham Palace, which chose not to comment.

At their coronation on Saturday, May 6, King Charles III and Queen Camilla will have 2,000 guests in attendance at Westminster Abbey. The majority of famous people who received invitations to prior royal functions are anticipated to attend the wedding. Celebrities that have already attended several royal events, such as David and Victoria Beckham and Bear Grills, are anticipated to attend the coronation.

As a member of the Canadian delegation, actor Sandra Oh attended the burial of Queen Elizabeth II alongside musicians Gregory Charles and Olympic gold medalist swimmer Mark Tewksbury. She might play the same part at the coronation too.

Nicole Scherzinger will appear alongside Joan Collins from Dynasty, Tom Jones, and Oti Mabuse in a series of pre-recorded VTs for the coronation, which will honor King Charles’ accession to the throne after the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth last year, as well as Winnie the Pooh and Tom Cruise. They will share “little-known facts about the King.”

Paloma Faith, Tiwa Savage, Steve Winwood, Olly Murs, and club DJ Pete Tong, who will play his Ibiza oldies, have all recently been announced for the show.

Along with Lucy, another recent The Piano winner, the concert will also feature the legendary pianist Lang Lang. A spoken word performance by Bollywood celebrity Sonam Kapoor will be used to introduce the Commonwealth virtual choir.

Artists like Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, who were also added earlier this month, will join them as well.

Prince Harry To Attend Coronation Without Wife Meghan Markle

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex will attend the King’s coronation, but his wife Meghan Markle will stay in the US with the couple’s kids, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace. Since the release of his outrageous autobiography Spare, he has not been to the Royal Family before.

Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

The Duchess of Sussex (Meghan Markle) will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet,” it said.

Meghan Markle’s choice to skip the event will unavoidably be interpreted as a hint of lingering family conflicts. Prince Harry is not a “working royal” any longer, therefore it is unclear what part he will play in the ceremonial parts of Coronation Day.

“The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th,” the couple announced in a statement that echoed the palace’s. “ Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet will stay in California with the Duchess of Sussex.”

As there were rumors that his family was not supporting him, Prince Harry’s book and an earlier Netflix series highlighted his worry about negative media coverage, especially toward his wife.
