“That happens when you actually sing and don’t lip-sync”: The Weeknd Stops Sold-Out Concert Mid-Way For Losing His Voice, Fans Defend Singer For Pouring His Voice Out For Over a Month
The Weeknd and his fans had to go through an unpleasant experience recently as one of the Blinding Lights singer’s concerts had to be halted midway out of nobody’s fault. The entirely sold-out 70,000-seat SoFi Stadium concert in Los Angeles was abruptly stopped by the four-time Grammy winner after just three songs because he lost his voice.
The unwitting action has hurt The Weeknd, or Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd’s real name) more than anyone. and he has expressed his repentance many times since it happened as well. Fans have also shown unflinching support for the singer, underlining that his health is of the utmost importance for the fans as well who want him to rest up and get better.
“You know how much this kills me” – The Weeknd
During the concert, The Weeknd was singing his hit Can’t Feel My Face which he stopped midway and quietly exited the stage. He later walked back on the stage to formally stop the show, confessing that he’s lost his voice and can’t go through with the performance.
Needless to say, the fans felt disappointed. However, Tesfaye assured his fans: “You’ll get your money back. But I’ll do a show real soon for you guys.”
The singer was as afflicted, if not more, as the crowd. He further expressed his lament and love for his fans, in an audibly raspy voice, before finally walking off the stage, saying: “You know how much this kills me right now. I’m sorry. I love you so much.”
He also took to Twitter to share his heartfelt regret.

Beautifully understanding fans
The concert in question was the final installment of a back-to-back performance at SoFi Stadium and a part of his ‘After Hours Til Dawn Tour’. With a wish to perform at cross-country stadium venues, The Weeknd had postponed the tour last year.
So far, no insight into The Weeknd’s health and vocal problems have been shared with his fans, who have publicly shared their well wishes for the singer.
Dude legit looks upset. His music and fans mean the world to him. Can't imagine what he's going through.
