“That’s a problem”: Hawkeye Actor Jeremy Renner Called Chadwick Boseman’s Suit Ridiculous, Claimed It Was “Terrible”
Jeremy Renner, best known for his role as Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, who was seriously injured by a snowplow, is now capable of walking unassisted. With more than 30 shattered bones as a result of the accident, the actor was hospitalized.
In addition to shocking everyone, Renner’s recovery prompted him to make a call to the real Avenger because it appeared as though he had been saved from death at the time of the collision. Did you know that, among all the actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Avengers films, Jeremy Renner believed this guy had the worst superhero attire?
Jeremy Renner called Black Panther’s suit ‘the worst costume’
During an interview with Collider while promoting their movie Captain America: Civil War back in 2016, Jeremy Renner was accompanied by actress Elizabeth Olsen who plays Scarlet Witch a.k.a. Wanda in the MCU was asked about how the two new superheroes at the time, Black Panther, played by the late Chadwick Boseman and Ant-Man, played by Paul Rudd, were adjusting to their little world.
Olsen said that the inclusion of the two of them in their dynamic broadens the globe of Marvel, to which Renner added,
“It’s like a video game, really. Everyone’s got different attributes. You look at Ant-Man and you learn more about him. And you look at Black Panther, who’s sort of like a Hawkeye or others in that he doesn’t have super powers, just a really great skillset. It’s just a great balance and a mixed bag to add to the Marvel universe.”
Continuing the same conversation, the two of them said Black Panther has the worst costume of any Marvel character. Renner added, “Yeah, Cap would complain about his cowl and it’s like dude, he’s got three on! Terrible, sweating – if it takes you 30 minutes to go to the bathroom, that’s a problem.”
Chadwick Boseman during his interview with ET also had similar views about his suit as he said, “I see the same thing. You don’t have as much vision in the peripheral. Your peripheral vision is definitely skewed, and it’s gritty, so you have this gritty, tinted view. You can see enough.”
He further noted when asked about the suit,
“As far as the actual suit is concerned, there’s a lot of comfort in the shoes and the boots, and that’s about the only part I did enjoy. That being said, the boots are the hardest part to get on, but after you get them on, you’re like, ‘Ok, that feels good.’ I remember being extremely hot, claustrophobic, but the shoes are still good. Everything else you get used to.”
Jeremy Renner talks about his future in Marvel Cinematic Universe
The actor who underwent emergency surgery with doctors claiming that it’s a miracle that he is alive back in June appeared as a guest at the Phoenix Fan Fusion in Arizona and was asked about his future in the MCU.
Renner said that he would be there in a heartbeat if Marvel wanted him to be. Another attendee shared that the actor said that he is not going anywhere, however, Hawkeye was seen teaming up with Kate Bishop, who has now taken the mantle of Hawkeye in the comic books as well as Hawkeye, which premiered on Disney+.
Fans were quick to notice that the ending of the show was open-ended when Barton’s return was considered. There has been no announcement about the second season of Hawkeye but everyone’s hopeful to see the actor back on-screen.

Jeremy Renner appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live back in April to promote his show Rennervations, which is also streaming on Disney+ and, according to the actor, set a milestone for him to get better, to make sure that all of the hard work wasn’t for nothing. He added, “There was no alternative. So for me, it was easy. There was somewhere to go, somewhere to point, and I had a lot of love.” He did say that it does not show but he is and was in a lot of pain.
The actor has been active on social media, sharing his recovery and health updates with fans as he tries to get better and heal better.
