Charlie Sheen slams Two and a Half Men creator in multiple rants
In March of 2011, Charlie Sheen was entangled in a public feud with Warner Bros. after the show’s producer fired him. According to sources, the production of CBS’ top-rated comedy show, Two and a Half Men, was delayed in Season 8. Charlie Sheen went to rehab after a year of drug- and alcohol-related incidents. Even the Platoon actor replied to the producers’ statement about his departure from the show. In a statement to TMZ, Sheen said,
“This is very good news. They continue to be in breach, like so many whales. It is a big day of gladness at the Sober Valley Lodge because now I can take all of the bazillions, never have to look at whatshiscock again, and I never have to put on those silly shirts for as long as this warlock exists in the terrestrial dimension.”
The news marked the end of one of the actor’s most successful sitcom runs. Although Sheen has effectively reinvigorated his career, won significant award nominations, and acquired a fortune over the past eight seasons of Two and a Half Men. He was paid $1.5 million to $2 million per episode under his deal.
Charlie Sheen got candid about his exit from Two and a Half Men
The Three Musketeers star’s 2013 interview with Katie Couric grabbed many people’s attention, as during his appearance he talked about his career and how his famous sitcom producers terminated his contract with them.
Katie Couric, the show’s host, begins by asking, “Charlie, you’re on this hit sitcom, and you’re making two million dollars per episode, so what happened at the pinnacle of your career?” “I think I just started porting to Honor, started having way too much fun, and just spilled over onto the set a little bit,” Sheen replied. He continued,
“I mean, I wasn’t partying on the set, and I was never high when I worked, but that became secondary to what I was curious about pursuing, and i was like traveling on my weeks off with my buddies, and everybody was eating steak, so it was all fun and chill.”
She then asked Sheen, “If you are this huge star now and working on this famous show, then why would you like to mess up such a successful career?”
The actor responded, “You make a very good point, but at the same time you want to have fun with that type of success.” She then asked him about the show’s creator, who claimed that he was unable to perform his lines because of his troubled behavior and sensitive public comments. She asked, “Is it true that you faced the wrongful accusation somewhere in the middle there, Charlie, and your contract was terminated?” He replied, “The derogatory stuff is true, but the other stuff is not, and about the erratic behavior, it’s all false because I was too busy delivering the show.”
Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre’s battle on Two and a Half Men is widely regarded as one of the most infamous in Hollywood history, beginning with Sheen’s substance addiction and his coming late to the set during the filming, all of which eventually led to his removal from the program. Following that, Sheen began aggressively criticizing Lorre in interviews and on his own YouTube channel, with some of his comments sparking anti-Semitism accusations and nearly destroying Sheen’s reputation.
