‘The Last of Us’ Actors Return for Halloween Horror Nights
The actors and voice artists, Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, who portrayed Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us video game, are reenacting their roles as popular The Last of Us characters for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando. The senior manager of Universal Studios, Lora Sauls, says, We fixed the name The Last of Us Halloween Horror Nights this June, and it was until we learned Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson voiced the line of the attraction.
“We got to use the voiceover actors from the video game,” Sauls said. “We did voiceover recordings with them, and they re-recorded our entire dialogue for our haunted house. So we were very, very excited to work with both Troy and Ashley on the re-recording of our haunted house dialogue.”
In addition, the park directly collaborated with Neil Druckmann and Naughty Dog, who created both The Last of Us game and TV series, to make the park happen. The attraction will feature recognizable locales and scenery from the game, with a specific focus on the Pittsburgh section of the game. Sauls said,
Druckmann specifically asked that the famous setting from the first game be used as the setting for the haunted house. We later found out that that graphic in the Pittsburgh area got so many accolades online that we understood why Neil wanted us to lean into Pittsburgh.”
The fans of The Last of Us who are waiting to experience the Halloween ambiance can also expect Interesting tidbits like a “weapons table” that exactly looks like like in the game and masks for Clickers and Bloaters that are flawless what was shown in video game.
