The Last of Us Co-Creator Fuels Third Game Rumors, Confirms Secret PS5 Game in the Works
The Last of Us has seen great success both as a video game series and later as a miniseries on HBO. Both forms of the story have amassed a high following. The series concluded year this year to rave reviews and the second installment of the game did just as well. Some activity from the game creator Neil Druckmann has fans believe that a threequel of the game is in the works. No official statements have been made but fans are intrigued with what they’ve seen.
Is the Last Last of Us Yet to Happen?
The Last of Us co-creator and President at Naughty Dog Neil Druckmann, has teased a new project. His way of low-key announcing what is being speculated will be the Last of Us 3 was simple but effective. He added “Writer/Director unannounced game” to his Instagram bio. This subtle move of letting the fans know of a new game is under development has the gamer community abuzz.

The Last of Us has a brilliant background story which has surely attributed to its success. main character, Joel, is a smuggler assigned to escort a teenage girl, Ellie, to travel through the post-apocalyptic USA. Where humans have turned monstrous due to a mutated fungal infection. Ellie and Joel fight for survival, to continue their journey, and reach their destination.
This concept was enthralling to video game players and had viewers hooked with the TV adaptation starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. After such success of Last of Us, it is readily assumed that the new project Neil Druckmann has sneakily mentioned will be another installment of the game.
Neil Druckermann: A Great Creative
After the game’s success, Neil Druckermann was promoted to the position of co-studio head at Naughty Dog. But he has still retained his creative control. Despite being an executive producer for the HBO series, he has directed some of the show as well.
Continuing to channel his creativity while managing a company, Druckermann is now developing another game for PS5. The fans believe and want it to be the Last of Us: Part 3 but it could very well be a whole new game. As the studio remains tight-lipped on the subject, anticipation keeps building. It remains to be seen what Naughty Dog has in-store for their fans.
